Looks like a decent keeper. Thought he was older than 31 y/o as he has been around quite a while. Could be (another) very good acquisition.

My Brighton season ticket holder mate when asked what he thought of Button simply replied, average!

I certainly wouldn’t call Johnstone average unless the comparison was lower league keepers! So that’s an improvement then!

This is the only deal/proposed deal that has disappointed me.

Brighton fans I know are all of the opinion he is a No2 inferior in every way to Matt Ryan. If he's not considered good enough by Brighton then he's not good enough for Albion.

My preferred option would have been a proven keeper (Krul) to at least properly challenge Johnstone.

If Palmer is good enough then why not give him a go if Johnstone fails? At 23 he is older than Hart or Pickford when they debuted for England and the same age as Henderson in the England squad who is now challenging De Gea?

I'm glad we didn't go for Hart but I think Krul would have been a very good shout. I was talking to a Brighton fan who said he'd be surprised if Button displaces Johnstone which is concerning.
