Planning application for crem at Burnside of duntrune......wonder if they will build us a stadium while they are at it.
Retail....finished
House sales.....during mass unemployment hmmmm
Crem......another one in the planning
Stadium......there's an "adequate" one 200 yards away
But still
Some folk
Think
We are going to build a stadium supported by housing, retail and a crem.
What am I not seeing?
only thing iv seen in that area planning wise was the graveyard where burials follow certain rules ie wicker caskets/top of caskets 18inches or so below surface,no headstones, but that was up just past kellas on the tealing rd,
no city the size and population of Dundee have 2 crems let alone 3 with another 2 working crems within 25miles of the city
Perhaps the delay in getting things built will prove to be a blessing. As you say the economic climate is far from that was anticipated when the Americans took over. Might there be a complete rethink? Maybe revive Dens? I have no idea but you would think a review of the fundamentals of the stadium strategy might be worthwhile.
Having a crematorium in the East part of Dundee makes sense. I cannot see any problem with traffic issues as there is already a crematorium at Parkside, Angus which is out in the country.
It will be interesting to see if Dark Blue Property Holdings Limited lodge an objection to this planning application.
finally found that online
when searching i came across the refusal of cremi where the new graveyard on drumsturdy rd is sited in 2007/8
I wonder if John Nelms knows that an application for a new crematorium on the Drumsturdy Road was turned down in 2007/8.
Was there any reason given why this planing application was turned down.
