    Trying to predict!!!

I, like many who read this and other teams fans forums, like a bet on the football.. Perhaps an accumulator or a bet on the number of goals, the number of bookings or even the number of corners.

But this year just trying to predict results is near impossible. Liverpool gave us a real going over, they looked different class. They go to London to a struggling Fulham side and have to rely on a late penalty to get a lucky point.

Burnley haven't won at Arsenal since the seventies, Arsenal one of the big six, but Burnley return to Lancashire with three points.

Spurs going well at the top of the Premiership make the short trip to play a struggling Crystal Palace side, but are held to a draw.

Everton, who have been finding it hard to win after a good start to the season, take on an inform Chelsea and nick all three points with 28% possession.

These are just some of this weekends strange results But the strangest one of all this season must be Aston Villa thumping the Champions Liverpool.

You are so right Abbo, I am in a 96 strong prediction League and am having a dreadful run this season. Usually do ok, but am struggling to climb up the rankings this season. Logic and form don't seem to count for much!

I have to agree with both of you. Even going back to earlier, when the Vile beat LiVARpool 7-2..... Very strange. How much is this due to the absence of fans, do you think?

I think it has everything to do with it Bill. Incidentally, only 2 of the top 15 had more points than me this week, so some improvement shown.

The four of us who meet in the pub had a meal together last Friday evening and compared our predictions for the weekend. I did comment that it would not surprise me if Burnley won at Arsenal. Sadly, that was not what I predicted for the prediction league as I did not have the courage of my convictions! Still, an above average score helped to cheer me up!

Regarding Arsenal, and its o/s of this topic, but I kind of wonder if Arteta will still be manager in 2021??

I doubt it, the man has the personality of a plank of wood. You have to have at least a sliver of charisma to be successful at the job.
