    London locked down

So what do they do, jump in car, jump on the train and go and spread it around the country.
    Selfish or what . https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ad-Tier-4.html

This is why the country is a mess! The travel ban should have been immediate aso thousands from the south are now moving further north so the virus will spread. Tier 3 people going to Tier 2 areas to pack out bars and restaurants as seen in our town - pure stupidity.

If rules are going to be in place they need to be policed by huge fines for breaking them!

Whilst I have some sympathy with the essence of these complaints, we are not a police state and we just do not have the numbers to police this. People need to be responsible and if they are not they we as a population will suffer.

The numbers are still relatively modest in percentage terms. The rules put in place could in fact be argued to be way over the top for the risks involved and are argued so by many.

These are tough decisions and you will never please everyone. There are as many who believe they go much too far, rather than we should be policing it and giving out big fines.

That's the whole point Yarm - many are not responsible. The pubs in our town tier 2 were rammed with tier 3 people visiting the town - day out then going to a restaurant/pub. Even the pubs who serve substantial meals are getting away with giving chips.

Nobody should therefore moan when infections explode due to idiots! I feel for the NHS who are working tirelessly but hey - the idiots don't give a flying f uck! As long as it's their own they infect and kill then perhaps they will give a s hit!

A simple stick to your tier or a substantial fine would help this! This country is too soft which is why dinghie after dinghie still crosses the channel. No doubt - these people will get a better Christmas lunch than some of our elderly or kids whose parents can't afford presents.

Yes, I am in Tier 4 in Kent so all of our Xmas arrangements have now gone out of the window. It is just me and the other half now sitting down to our dinner, watching the Queens Speech and then falling asleep in the chair probably. It is going to be a tough two weeks but this is the only way to rid us of this terrible virus. Those people who have decided to flee Tier 4 to be with others in lower tiers are totally selfish and irresponsible in my mind. This new variant is spreading like wildfire here and travelling is only going to spread to the rest of the country. This will only lead to another lockdown by the end of December. Stay safe everyone.

Can London clubs play outside the zone and can other clubs travel into the zone?

Yes they can, all sports including football continue as before. Tier 4 does not impact football on any London club

I was very irritated when I read and heard about the mass exodus from London. Many people are so very selfish.

I was listening to the radio a few days ago and they were talking to a chap who had had Covid. I suppose like many people I had become rather blase about the matter but then by chance I listened further. He was going to work when he became ill. He remembers nothing about this including when he walked to the ambulance. He was on a ventilator for a few days and then went into intensive care. He remembers his wife and children coming in and it became apparent that they had come to say their final goodbyes. The illness was badly effecting his kidneys (something that has only just been recognised), for some reason he had to lose the tips of some fingers and a thumb. The other thumb is to be removed shortly. He has been told that it will take him about 4 years to get over it and he will be on dialysis for the rest of his life. I was quite shocked listening to this account by a middle aged man. I know the majority of infections are mild and can be shaken off within a few days but I now realisejust how serious it can be. This is why I am so angry at these individuals going here, there and everywhere potentially spreading it. So selfish. I really think that the account of that man‘s experience and no doubt many others should be broadcast on TV just so that the stories reach millions more. Whether it will change attitudes is another matter but it is worth trying.

Bang on Q165, absolutely bang on. This virus is like playing Russian roulette, it’s severity on any individual is unknown until it is to late. These foolish, selfish individuals are putting many, many lives at risk. Utterly unforgivable but I guess anything is worth a try.
