Can't stand the bloody stuff. Nature's piss take. I don't care how pretty it looks when its come down, within hours its just filthy slushy crap.Never even liked it as a kid. Could not understand the enthusiasm of the other kids to get out in it.
None at all in the North East.
I don’t like Winter and snow is one of its worst features. Warm weather, please!
Us old uns will remember 62-63 winter. No days off school you had sit in your coats and wellies, with no heating.

I was in my first year in college at Cheltenham during that winter. I struggled back from Stafford just after Christmas and the snow was so deep, some days we had to dig ourselves out of the Hostel door. At the beginning of March you could not see the fences on the Racecourse, and the festival was only two weeks away. However, there was a thaw and the meeting went ahead.
There was virtually no sport, and at college the only competitive outdoor activity was cross country running.. Plenty of sledging was done on the nearby Cleeve Hill, that over looks the Racecourse. The common room tubular chairs were great for that activity.
Remember 62/63 winter well. Started snowing on Boxing Day and did it snow. I was at Molineux and the game was abandoned at half time with us 2-0 down. Didn't get home to Leominster until midnight. The points on the railway lines kept freezing up. Mum was going spare, no mobile phones in those days. Snow still on the ground until April. Children from outlying farms and villages didn't get to school for weeks. I lived in the town but we only went to school until lunchtime. Haven't had a winter like it since.
