Protest marches are for the soap dodgers, Liberal Elite “Chattering Classes” types and for your Hard Left nut jobs.
I’m like you Lloyd, from a working class background and now I presume middle class fairly normal type life, I’ve never been on one and don’t know anyone that has.
If you can afford to go to these types of events you’ve got either too much time on your hands or too much money or you’re being supported by wealthy parents or the state.
I'm beginning to despair of the way that our society is developing. The problem is that far too many people, think that they are the centre of the universe and can do whatever they wish. They have no concept of what is best for society in general only what is best for them. Last night's appalling scenes were a case in point. The vigil was illegal on two counts, firstly it was deemed by the government to be an illegal gathering and secondly, it broke Covid regulations. Of course that doesn't apply to them as they can do what they want! The ban may have been wrong, I'm not sure, but it was the law and should have been adhered to. What really annoyed me was that it wasn't a silent vigil but a raucous protest led in all probability by the usual agitators. I may be arguing against myself here but had it been a silent, socially distanced and well ordered event, as in many other areas, the police could well have 'turned a blind eye'. Wrong I know, but would have been understandable.
The police in general, and London especially, have had an horrendous job to do in the last twelve months and don't deserve the way that far too many of the public treat them.
That’s bang on how it is. “Center of the universe” that’s how people think now that their case is more important than anyone else’s. Just saw an Instagram post which might as well be saying that all men are like the guy who murdered that woman. 100% one said. Telling men how to behave when walking down the street at night. “Keep your distance” don’t walk too fast. I stopped myself from commenting because I knew how it would pan out. Just like the racist issue I would have been branded as someone who agreed with what the murderer did. You are dealing with brains that operate without any logical cohesion.
It’s the death of the white working class bloke. A couple of years ago I was classed as homophobic and anti gender. Last year I was classed as a privileged white racist and now I’m classed as a wife beater and potential rapist. I feel I don’t belong in this world anymore.
It seems that if you don't like something or don't agree with something you are whateverphobic. I don't think homo***uality is normal behaviour and men having *** with other men or blokes putting on women's clothes and swanning around is totally abnormal in my mind. However I don't hate these people and I don't wish any harm to them in any way. I do not like butter beans or salmon but does that make me vegetable or fish phobic? We live in a world of victimhood now where even the perpetrator of some crime is always a victim too. This woke generation will eat itself alive eventually. Everyone will be too scared to give an opinion on anything for fear of offending someone or something.
What a short yet brilliant post, you’ve explained my mindset to perfection.
On a personal note I as a young bloke was always extremely wary when out at night and I still am.
If I was in Brum on a night out I was on hyper alert, same if I was at Eve’s in Wolverhampton.
Although it should be a right of anyone to walk in their own safely at night the opposite has always been thus.
If you’re a woman of any age and you’re out at night walking alone you are always going to be at risk, no amount of campaigning will ever change this.
The TV is “wall to wall” this morning with earnest young women and activists ranting on about how “society has got to change”......it seems the media have moved on from BLM and now have another cause celebre to ram down our throats!
I wonder what ritual the Premier League footballers will be initiating pre match for this cause?
The way things are going their won’t be enough room on kits to put the player’s number due to the number of cause badges.
