    Mandatory Vaccinations

They are coming. Care home workers will be required by law to take the covid jab. Next step mandatory jabs for health care workers to be considered and then will probably become law. Next step, it could be you...?

If this Government gets this passed then it will be compulsory Covid jabs for all those who work in the NHS. Then it will be the teachers, then the bus drivers, taxi drivers, shop workers. Personally this all smacks of tyranny. But I could be getting ahead of myself, i remember thinking months ago that all this stuff was just a conspiracy theory.

Anyone who thinks that this is a conspiracy, should spend a day on a Covid ward and then, maybe, they would understand why vaccinations are necessary to beat this deadly virus.

My comment about conspiracy was not related to the virus itself but covid passports, biometric ID cards, compulsory jabs. etc all this stuff was going around early last year. Just imagine in the future you refused a compulsory jab the Government then refuses you access to bank accounts, health treatment, access to shops, pubs etc. I'd have said you'd be mad to suggest that, but...

No, I know you wasn't indicating that the virus was a conspiracy Phil. The point I was making is that, at the moment, the vaccine is the only way to combat the virus and people should strive to have it to protect other people..

I think if you work on the front line dealing with patients it should be mandatory, no vaccine no job.

My wife is a doctor and there is a long list of mandatory vaccines that health care workers already have to take before they are allowed to work so adding covid not only makes a lot of sense, its also just one more on the list. As for the rest of society, a covid vaccine is not going to hurt you but the lack of one may kill you or kill someone close to you. So why wouldn't you take it?? You are already full of any number of vaccines that have protected you against lots of nasty diseases - e.g. you don't ever want diphtheria, polio, whooping cough, tetanus or tuberculosis - and the fact you have never had them is because of the vaccines that were "forced" on you in school. So was the government trying to take away your liberty by vaccinating you or was it trying to protect you? I dotn necessarily trust the government on a lot of issues but the paranoia I am seeing over covid vaccines is about the stupidest behaviour I have ever seen from otherwise sensible people. So suck it up and get the covid vaccine. You have nothing to lose but your life (or your reputation as a sensible person).
