    What GPs get for jabbing folk

    In the UK each GP has around 2,100 patients

    NHS pays GPs £12.58 to administer each covid jab and £42.58 per jab for care home residents

    Assuming a 70% take up of vaccination then each GP will get;

    65% of patients 1,365 x £12.58 x 2 jabs =£34,343
    5% care home residents 105 x £42.58 x 2 jabs = £8,942

    So a GP will typically receive an extra £43,285 on average this year

    A GP windfall. For those who decline the jab then don't be surprised when you receive many, many letters and phone calls/texts.

    Typical of GP’s they were anonymous during most of the pandemic, now they come out acting the vaccine heroes...

    I was caught up in the '£100 for a positive diabetic diagnosis' kerfuffle, a few years ago. All my mates were called, too, and hounded until they attended. Guess what.....?

    I checked my GP and her doctor husband at Companies House for the last financial year.

    They both earned over £350k yet I haven’t been able to get to see them for 12 months.

    They most likely will only take urgent calls - from their sun loungers in Dubai at a 7 star hotel

    Don’t think GP’s are giving out the injections I know I wasn’t injected by a GP

    Not all GP's are vaccinating and not all vaccinators are GP's - there are now lay vaccinators, the £12.58 fee is a flat fee for provision of the service. The care home one is new news to me - that is astonishing and once again flagrant misuse of taxpayers money, I could personally vaccinate 100+ care home patients in a day with a cost of just my time, PPE, refrigeration, insurance & waste disposal arrangements. I don't think the fee includes the stock cost as that's supplied free of charge, the suppliers directly invoicing the NHS.

    It's a crazy world especially when there are cheap and highly effective drugs that can protect folk & reduce transmission - both by over 85% but not approved - wonder why eh.

    Three week wait to get a phone call from a GP in my practice is the norm. Only entertain face to face contact if you’re at deaths door and then it’s a quick referral to the local hospital specialist. Otherwise it’s distribution of pills and ‘get back to me’ if things don’t improve. I’ve no doubt GP’s have boosted their incomes during COVID. My GP has gone from running an old Skoda shed to a brand new Jag I-Pace costing at least £65k. Make of that what you will...no praise from me I’m afraid.

    Probably because it's a tax deductible as a business expense and being an electric car it attracts 0% benefit in kind tax if you're an employee of your own limited company. GP surgeries I believe operate in this way.
