It does not surprise me. Both were a means to an end in my opinion and were no better than what we had.
Effiong for me never really showed what he was capable of, but I thought he was much better in the more recent games he played. Also credit to him for stepping up and taking the penalty against Boring Wood. We have Knight to blood into the team now.
Richardson didn't have the best of games when he played from memory, but it was only one month loan cover for injuries.
Effiong might have made a bigger impact than we think.
Most seem to think the Reedtz brothers had decided on replacing the manager a couple of weeks before the Yeovil game and dropping those points and being outplayed by a bottom club like Kings Lynn might have been what finally pushed them into acting.
So if Effiong hadn't given away that needless free-kick that lead to their stoppage time equaliser, confidence might not have dipped as much and NA might still be in charge now.
So it's all thanks to Inih, innit?
It’s alright having Knowlesy and Knight. Without Wooton we will have zero physical presence up front today.
We won’t have an out ball.
I will be interested to see how we line up as we are going to need willing runners to get in the channels.
I might have been tempted to send Effiong back tomorrow.
All that said this is definitely Ian putting his stamp on the side. Having the likes of Cal available is massive.
Would have thought Sam could be the target man he is 6’-4” after all!
