I fear we’re on the cusp of a real disaster here.

Every sinew in my body is screaming at me that it’ll be Appleton😩

I could live with McInnes if it involved Sir Gary coming along as his assistant, after all, Derek was a Megson signing and the captain that pulled the team into shape.

No way will Gerrard risk his CV by coming to us.

I’d go for Wilder because he’s succeeded everywhere he’s been on a limited budget and I think he’s the sort who can get players to play for him and he won’t put up with shirkers.

Hodgson at a push but who’s going to play Smithers to his Mr Burns?

After 5 Managers since 2017 we still have a massive rebuilding job to be done this summer, and not a great budget to do it with.

Need someone who is tough and experienced. Big Sam for me was the only one who fitted the bill. Skybet have Wilder at 1/3 which says it all, no one else has the right cv.

I think we have more chance of going into League One at the end of next season than going straight back up. Only saving grace is I think it will be a poor Championship next season so as long as the new Manager gets the parachute payment rather than Lai then I suppose we may be able to stabilise.

    We’re doomed Mr Mainwaring.

This is top 6 at the mo according to the Sack Race

    Chris Wilder is odds on
    Howe 12/1
    Lampard 14/1
    Butt 16/1
    Thomas Frank 16/1

So far Appleton as not appeared on the top 30 list

I have to agree 123. He has club knowledge and has gained experience at Man City learning from the best. You never know, he could attract some of those City kids on loan as well.

I think he'd be cracking for us, I really do.

Young, hungry, knows the club, plays the right way, learned from Pep, would develop our promising younger players.

And as you say, has access to the best young players on loan in the country at Man City like Liam Delap, Tommy Doyle, Morgan Rogers If you know much about youth football, these are probably the standout players in the country at their age group.

He ticks a lot of boxes in all apart from experience, but then look how much experience Pardew had...

I want to see someone really get hold of our defence. Irrespective of individual favourites, we are positionally dreadful and lack concentration when it matters.
Interestingly, Skybet have John Terry as 3rd favourite after Wilder and McInnes. Not really my cup of tea...but he would really sort us out at the back !
