    Villa coaching and Dean Smith

Now im not pressing the Panic Button but recent events tell me things are not right behind the scenes with the coaching staff.
First, Terry Leaves- without another job. People leave their jobs but always have something lined up!
O'Kelly suddenly left- two days before the first game. I don't care how you spin that, that is not right, same as Terry, no other Job offer.
A new coach brought in the players dont know who looked like a stranger in the dug out- just who is he?
There was one clip of Smith and Shaky looking like they were having words.
Smith looked shell shocked when 3 down, lonely and clueless.
Yesterday smacked of 'throw them all on, kinda Tactic -desperate.
Playing Buendia when clearly he not fit was a poor decision, whos decision? Is there a power struggle behind the scenes, has there been something said......rumours!
We can all jump on the players but to be fair, pre-season has been rubbish and the cracks were evident after the Stoke game and of course we have the ' Grealish factor' other players need to step up and take their chance which, I am hopeful they will.
Will Smith get time, will we now take a serious punt at Ward-Prowse?
Whos buying the players anyhow, do they give them to Smith, does he have a say? Will they trust him to get in a 40-50 mill marquee midfielder?
Naming Mings as Capt? Whis decision was that, i'm not happy with that but struggling to see apart from Martynez who can do the Job.
Does anyone else think we have lost some harmony in the coaching staff, will this affect our season?
Far too early for the 'Smith Out' call but there was rumours in the summer about Gerrard???
Will Deano take us to the next level?

    Thoughts!

That is the new 'Set piece coach Austin Macphee, more like Nanny Mac'fuxing'phee, judging by our set pieces yesterday.

Tactics and selection/subs were never DS strongest points, but he seems to be a lucky manager, and I'd rather him be that, than not. I'd give him the whole season. It's ridiculous to even joke about the manager's position.

Mings, for me, is the standout candidate for Capt.

Cash will always struggle with a tricky winger (he is after all a midfielder), and Targett has always been a sucker to pace, as he's always out of position.

Unfortunately our lack of pre-season means we're trying to get up to speed, 'on the job', so to speak.
It also seems that we tried to get the players sorted, whilst forgetting behind the scenes. P1ss poor really.

Tis like buy a new car but not putting any fuel in it.

Its sounds like there looking at a new manager. It makes sense they would want a marque manager if you want villa to be a top 4 European club. However Deano doesnt deserve the chop whatsoever though. Business business in this game though.

Don't have ads, so I don't get to see that scouse fecker's mush.

The ads probably pick up on keywords from your feed mate. Try mentioning Mbappe a few times, ya never know

Interesting post Dave - JT left early in the summer, reckon he'd planned to do so months ago and told DS in confidence. O'Kelly may well have gone sooner having seen how last season went with the addition of Shakespeare but with JT gone and Deano isolating for a while he is said to have stayed a bit longer to help during pre-season.

Lucky manager? Maybe but only because of Hawkeye, last season there were times we played well and lost & vice versa, these things even themselves out over a season. His tactics are definitely questionable along with some of his substitutions but if they work then credit where its due, not just a got lucky this time. We now have more options formation wise so this season we will really see if he is up to the job of delivering on the ambitions of NSWE.

We need to use that money city gave us wisely, we will not get a gift like that again for a long time. Grealish looked like a fish out of water today! Oh well thats Cities problem!
Another central midfielder please Mr Lange.

    Definitely!

I'll forever wish there was more to come from JG in a Villa shirt but we move on, it will take him time to settle in at City but if they can use him to his strengths with the talent they already have they could be phenomenal.

So O'Kelly left because he was demoted to Under 23 coach. Bit of pride there and walked out. At least we know it was not for health reasons, makes you think if somethong similar was said ro Terry???
