Barnsley v Birmingham City Match Thoughts

Coming off a very good away victory at Luton are Brum and they look to be a far sterner prospect these days under Bowyer than they were for the majority of last season .

However this is the championship and what happened last week is pretty much neither here nor there and that goes for ourselves who were outstanding for an hour at QPR .

A win would give us 8 points going in to the international break and a fair enough return I think given the transition taking place here at the moment .

Having 8 points would be great at this stage of the season.
Because after the international break I think we will be a different proposition.
But I can see us losing or drawing this game.
Basically because of problems with the front line ie. no target striker available.

Dean and as we know Marc Roberts are two very physical centre backs who are also good in the air .

Pretty simple game plan for us is to move the ball quickly and break those lines much like we did last week for an hour .

Move those two big buggas about and take em away from their comfort zone .

Brum appear to be a different proposition under Bowyer. They've ed two excellent away wins this season wi art conceding. I watched them beat Sheffield utd in the opening game and they managed the game very well. As usual it'll be a tough test. I reckon Birminghams approach will be similar to Lutons in our last home game. They're a big side and if we give them a goal it could be a frustrating afternoon. Summat we have to be alert to. However, we've set our standards at QPR last week. If we laik composed and controlled football like we did for 60 mins at Loftus Rd then we will pick up points against any team.

Wouldn't like to predict how this one will go after last weekends results. My first time back at Oakwell since covid struck, so I'll enjoy it come what may.
