Is recruitment likely to drive ground improvement

Clearly the directors are starting to build up a head of steam with team building.
If Marcus is able to mould this squad into a team then on paper we shouldn’t be far away from the playoffs this season,
And even if we fail to reach that objective - we will be stronger next season (isn’t it sweet knowing that).
At some point in the not too distant future Barnsley is going to be a favourite for promotion.
The directors will know that - so the only thing holding the club back will be the ground.
I would expect an announcement in the next 6 months.

God forbid the stadium would 100% fall in to the hands of these owners .

I've no issues with them holding a 50% stake but the full 100% not now and not ever .

They will only do the bare minimum even with a 50% stake and that's something I'm happy to have to accept .

Unless the ownership are prepared to invest their own funds in to the club which basically equates to investing in their own business rather than the self sufficiency model then it's best to be more realistic YN with your expectations in my opinion .

They knew the situation when they bought the club--Correction--they haven't paid to buy the club yet.

I'm delighted these charlatans haven't got control over the future of Oakwell.

This club is miles stronger since the new owners have taken over.. but people like yourself will never admit this.. as your too busy beeing sheep folling the "man utd we hat glazers " hate of big foreign companies...
Its not the 1950s no more football is big business move on you dinosaur. If we were all same the club would have died years ago.
Fact remains they dont own the stadium so there's no sensible reason why they should spend millions on the west stand

The fact that I don't act like a sheep swallowing every word Conway spouts is the reason for my popularity on here.

Time will tell who proves to be right about the future of BFC under this Consortium.

They arn’t going to own the ground.
Paul Conway said that only last week.
But there could be a lengthy lease hold on it which would enable the club to redevelop.

I’m guessing here - but it will have crossed the directors minds on more than one occasion that the state of the ground - especially the West Stand is having a detrimental impact on recruitment.
    Hence potential signings driving away.
The ground has to be attractive to attract players as well as more supporters to it.

    I have no expectations.
All what I’m doing here is reading and listening to what’s coming out of the club - and also what happened at Nice.
The directors will want the club to be in a sound state as soon as possible - as I believe they will then be able to put it in the shop window as soon as possible.
There will be an agenda there with a time scale attached to it.

    My opinion is this .

Its difficult to for me to accept an ownership who have absolutely no intention of using their own funds to invest in their own business .

The above is not to be confused with moronic bankrolling such as that idiot at S6 .

Investing themselves to make the club more valuable at the point of sale so as to achieve a profit .

Does that sound unreasonable ? .

I choose the word investing please note and not donating .

Why not invest in electronic advertising to raise revenue streams .

Why don't the owners sponsor the shirts ?

What about sponsoring the ground ?

I'm not so much a dinosaur that I wouldn't be totally against that if the money was right because it would be always Oakwell to me .

Instead we've owners who haven't even paid for the club four years in .

If that's modern business today and floats your boat and you are prepared to accept it then that's up to you .
