    Meadow Lane helps Florists Win

Florists' U23s kicked-off their Premier League Cup campaign with a 4-1 victory against Blackburn Rovers U23s at Meadow Lane this evening.

Clearly playing at the Lane has helped them, or at least their U23s, relocate the onion bag, however, two of their under 23s' goals were scored by one 'Joseph Lolley', aged 29.

Is there any reason they were playing at Meadow Lane rather than the City Ground? Is this some long-term agreement where they get to scuff up our pitch rather than their own?

My guess is that it is part of a reciprocal agreement with us using their training ground. I think whatever the arrangement is then it must be economically good for us. Concern would be if there were more matches on the pitch during the winter when it would get damaged more and there would be less time to repair / restore it between our league games.

I have no issue with our facilities being used if as you say it’s economically beneficial to do so. We have 22 games at home and whatever cup games we end up with. We don’t have a reserves side like in the good old days. The development squad doesn’t always play at ML either.
So the number of games at ML at worst would average maybe a game a week.
I also hope that IB and the recruitment team keep an eye on games to see if there is a potential loan. The next Grant or Yates. Keeping Forest sweet in this respect can only be a positive.

Hopefully the on / off deal with Jayden Richardson will be sorted soon
