Thanks for posting that Animal. Really thought provoking drama, well acted and well written.

When I think about how life can become for most couples of over a decade or more, it's easy to drift and get in a rut. The relationship can easily go stale if allowed to. Day to day life gets in the way. I reckon most couples who reach the 20 year + mark or when their kids have grown up might experience this. Sadly other things go with it too like a lack of self esteem, weight gain, low libido etc. It's hard work is a relationship and keeping it alive.


On the other hand and looking from an alternative angle, It also shows the absurdity of marriage. Sorry if that offends but I'm an atheist and grew up in a broken marriage. Kind of put me off it to be fair. However, I tried to learn from my parents mistakes and incorporated certain values into my philosophy as the years went by. It's not an exact science though is it? It's about the people involved in a relationship. Sometimes good values or bad, relationships are just sometimes destined not to be.

What comes through Pass is that whilst money was short in supply and working class jobs were hard and bloody grim solace was found in tight knit communities and folk pulling together and rallying round .

Whilst today we are all better off financially in relative terms much of that spirit is now almost non existent and it's a dog eat dog society .

Not totally but absolutely nothing like when I was a kid in the 70's .

As for Harry and Audrey I say good luck to them for not settling for a marriage in name only and keeping every other bugga happy .

Tha's only one shot at life , tha dunt get another go .

Watched the fishing trip wi Brian Glover. Funny in bits but not as good as the other two. Filmed in Whitby n all. That pair o hoteliers were proper sh1thouses Again though, the decency of the 3 miners shone through. Certainly med the hoteliers think twice.
