COP26 in my opinion is aptly named as it is just another cop out and ‘talking shop’ which should have been held by video conferencing.
120 world leaders mostly flew to and from Scotland for a one day visit to the COP26 conference with the emissions from all these plane journeys doing nothing to help reduce global emissions.
President Joe Biden flew from USA to Italy for the G20 conference last weekend on his huge plane Air Force One. He then flew from Italy to Edinburgh airport as is was close for his stay at the luxurious Dalmahoy Hotel. The following day a 21 vehicle motorcade took President Biden from Dalmahoy Hotel to Glasgow which again created increased pollution in Scotland.
If President Biden was really keen on reducing pollution he should have stayed at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow which is connected by an escalator to the SEC building and a short walk from the OVO Hydro building.

Biden falling asleep has been the highlight so far.

With no disabled acçess for the Israel delegate point and laugh embarrassing a close runner up.

And in 3rd place Boris not wearing a mask (Which is so *****ly important apparently) next to 189 year old David Attenborough.

Special mention.....Angela Merkel not wearing mask in car, putting mask on outside then taking it off when inside.....maybe that was other conference....can't mind.

I thought that there would have been a lot of debate on this COP26 topic but it looks like all the other posters are happy to accept all the lies peddled by the politicians and other protest groups who have shipped up in Glasgow for this ‘talking shop’.
Prince Charles is continually ‘bleating’ about how we must reduce our CO2 emissions yet he is part of the problem.
Prince Charles continually speaks about how he loves drinking heavily peated single malt scotch whisky such as Laphroaig whisky who have received his personal award.
However the production of heavily peated single malt whisky is ‘killing the planet’ as it has continually been stated by environmentalists that peat bogs help keep the Planet cool.

I recently read that the normal water supply in Scotland contains 1PPM of peat whereas Prince Charles favourite single malt whisky Laphroaig 10 year old contains 35PPM of peat.
In my opinion this is another case of ‘do as I say, not as I do’.

Islay, wrong target IMO. Peaty whisky is lovely and in my opinion using burning peat to flavour the barley is the only acceptable use of peat. This sink for CO2 nonsense has to stop or we won't have any decent malts.

I like a Laphroaig now and again Islay. You do realise they only use the water that drains from the peat bog and not the actual peat I assume?

Some of them smoke the barley by blowing the smoke from burning peat over the barley. Was a surprise to me as I had thought that it was peaty water that gave the whisky its flavour. They blow the smoke from burning peat to get a more peaty flavour. Surprise to me as I thought they just used water that had drained from peat bogs.

There are currently plenty of peat bogs in Scotland but if the owners of whisky distilleries keep cutting peat on an industrial scale to produce heavily peated single malt whisky they will soon disappear.
Since 2005 Edradour distillery near Pitlochry has been producing a heavily peated single malt scotch whisky which has an even higher peated PPM than Laphroaig whisky despite Edradour distillery being in an area of Scotland with little peaty soil. https://www.edradour.com/taste2/
I know who the culprit was that persuaded the management of Edradour Distillery to start producing a very heavily peated single malt whisky.
