Neil Ardley has won Novembers Manager of the month award.

I know there's the 'Manager of the month curse' saying but is there any stats that show either way if this is just a myth?

Most football teams can show a month or a few matches of good form and win 3 or 4 on the bounce but will then go back to more ‘normal’ form ie winning a few, drawing a few and losing a few

I said something similar when Burchnall won it:

I don't think the Manager of the Month curse really exists. The club that wins it is in a great run of form that's unsustainable over the season, otherwise they would win the league by 30 points. A downward trend is usually inevitable. It's a bit like the current form table, which isn't so much 'current form' as 'recent past form'.

Burch was only manager of the week, not sure if that has a similar curse! May only be from good form of one game.

Even if part myth surely the curse is stronger for monthly awards than weekly?

The weekly award that IB ‘won’ wasn’t even an award, it was just something Vanarama offer out on a weekly basis via social media to increase their profile for selling and leasing vans. It probably kills them that BW are doing so well because the extra exposure their fan base offers them is non existent, whereas if they pick a manager from Notts, Stockport, Grimsby, Wrexham, Chesterfield etc it provides much better clickbait opportunities.

The Manager of the Month award is an official award presented by the NL, sponsored by Vanarama and I'm assuming it was for October. Like you say all that matters is that IB comes out on top on Saturday.
