Just read that Sheff United v QPR

Has been postponed due to covid.
It worked out well for us, think some at the EFL was disappointed.

QPR, London club, they are far more likely to have their request accepted than an old out of the way Black Country club. So glad we won!

The FA need to clarify the rules here, so much ambiguity!

Very surprised they let our game go ahead - with so many Covid cases and a clearly developing situation. Just relived we won but poor from the EFL.

As usual the fa and football league are behind in everything. Nearly 2 years to draw up some rules isn't enough obviously.

This though has so much potential for abuse with false positive reported to get games called off and the tests should have been done by fa or league officials or at the very least the club doctor who should be more trustworthy.

In an ideal world we should be getting as many games postponed until we can get a striker who knows how to finish.

Very hard to disagree with any of that

The simplest answer is to not allow any games to be called off.

No excuses allowed, age group players would have to step up.

This would stop abuse of the system.

Looks like many clubs, including several in the PL, looking at getting matches cancelled this week.

I have to say my base level is that games should not be cancelled however, at what point does it become ridiculous? As an example if there are only 5 of the declared registered players then surely they could not play as per the Sheff Utd debacle against us in their Warnock days.

However, for me, if 18 of the registered players for the competition are available then they should be made to play even if they have several of the kids in that group.

As to our game I know we have 10 players who couldn’t play but 5 were long term injuries, one (Diangana) was sick and 4 were Covid related. We just about had enough players to fulfil the fixture and therefore I agree we should have been made to play. What we need though are some rules and consistency.
