    Opinions On The Transfer Window

I think we got off lightly

Jagielka? A real shame but Stearman seems to have stepped up so all we've lost is strength in depth. I'd take either of them in preference to the strangely lauded Clark from the last two seasons

Shinnie? Likewise a shame but he did have his bad games and we are fortunate to have a replacement in Bielik who despite my love of feisty Scottish midfielders, is a better player

Baldock? Didn't impress enough to warrant a contract

Marshall? Important to get his Kings ransom wages off the books, pleased with Alsopp's improvement especially keeping out of Beilik's way on Sunday, I'd give him an assist for that

Plage? I know emotions are high on this one but a) we have him for the most important 18 games of recent times and b) he's relatively unproven, think how we cooed over the early days of Sibley who I would put in our pub side at present

Others? A shame but hey ho

My perspective is, if ALL those transfers had NOT happened, and the line-up for the Brum match had been as it was, through injury, suspension, loss of form or just player rotation, would we have been surprised?

Plange came to us on a free last summer. He's made 8 appearances and scored 3 goals. He looks a decent prospect but that's all he is at the moment. An unproven prospect. How often in the past has DCFC had a youngster break through, we turn down a lot of money (Barnes for one) and end up getting nothing for them?

In this case, he got the offer of a PL club. One sat comfortably in midtable and of in a relegation fight. One with a coach who, IMO, can help him as much as Wayne could. It's a move back home and it's a gamble for Palace. We need the money and we need it NOW. I'd gamble on Admin wanted to accept the deal and, looking at all of the circumstances, Wayne sanctioned (if he had a say in it) the deal because it's a decent deal for all concerned.

It also stops Gibbo et al saying we haven't sold players

Largely agree with the above. Disappointed to see Plange going, he has genuine promise imo but, as AF says, we have him for the short term.
I thought we desperately missed both Shinnie and Jagielka against both Forest and Brum. Yes Stearman has stepped up but I fear that lack of strength in depth may cost us and an injury now to Stearman or Davies could be terminal.
We lost another yesterday...Isaac Hutchinson...off on loan to Crawley. Don’t understand that at all...we’re hardly overrun with midfielders so he’s either not good enough or it’s a very peculiar decision.
So much now depends on Bielik...if he stays fit and in form then we have a chance.

Agreed. Also think Thompson has shown more than capable in midfield, so not so reliant on Beilic and Shinnie as we may have been

Somebody tell forest because they all think we need to be investigated for not selling players and raising funds to pay creditors, what's that now then 9 players sold so far?

    Define who @ forest?

I think the consensus, is that DCFC needed £7 million or go bust. In effect, 2 players at derby may come close to clearing that.
I believe that is the point the whole league were saying, not just some Forest forum you are reading

Get constantly told forums are dead or dying, it's Facebook where its at so you keep telling us, where ever I look they seem to be crying that they had to sell players and we haven't, I guess it just doesn't suit their narrative, we could be liquidated and they'd still moan we aren't paying our bills

Forums are. But Facebook has buckets of forums and most of them are applied members only.
The liquidated thing, is very valid. As I have said, given the choice of that or selling players I know what I'd take.
You had a transfer window there, where a bigger name could have gone. The gamble has been taken not to, in the hope of selling the whole thing.
Now ask yourself honestly, would you have put your house/ family on the spin of a coin?

In NFFC's case, I can tell you of 2 situations, where top named players were sold cheap, just to avoid administration, never mind liquidation.
Jokes apart, this as serious as it gets. Personally, I think you're worrying about the wrong things on a forum Stenson
