    St Mirren - 24h on

Motherwell fans are bewildered. After twenty four rounds of the Premiership the team somehow retains fourth place. It's a wonderfull world. LINK

Is there a case to be made for taking a punt on Griffiths? After all, Watt was drifting when we signed him and with some pushing from Robinson/GA, that turned him around. Or does it come with too much baggage, even for a short-term deal?

Also, can't help wondering if a "good" signing for 500K or so (creative midfielder or pacy striker) to try and hold on to 4th place might not have proved a decent investment, given payouts for Euro qualification, SPL places etc.

I think Griffiths has problems that go beyond the right manager getting him going. Dundee was the ideal chance for him and he still couldn't take it.

I wouldn't have thrown another 500k at a striker but agree in general. The accounts yesterday won't include a fortune on Kelly, six figures on Slattery and Solholm etc.
