Dead from the neck up. If we end up with Steve Bruce that will just about sum it up.

Rather have Bruce than the **** er we just got rid of , I remember all the fuss over big Sam coming but if we as a club could have kep't him & backed him we wouldn't be in this mess now I'm convinced of that ,

We are where we are - no point looking back though think Fat Sam is available.

But my concern is this is not long term planning.

Val was supposed to be a long term plan - it didn't work that's for sure but the need for a long term plan remains.
A plan to get us playing the Baggies way- attractive , exciting stuff.

So we need a long term plan & a manager who buys into it

Bruce cannot be that answer surely? look at his record - see what the Geordies say about his tenure.

This season's gone - play offs at a scrape but we won't get promotion - anyway we would be battered week in week out in the Premiership.

I know Lai is the problem as he needs to get his money back asap but Bruce won't do that - do you think he will?

While Steve Bruce wouldn't be my choice, it does look as if he will be appointed. If so, we must back him and give him every opportunity to get us out of the mess that the owner, the board and the previous manager have got us into. Not an easy job!

Well, don’t expect exciting forward thinking football. Nobody likes his “style” so I’ll look forward to your comments as the season progresses.

What a stupid post!!! Do you think Val has delivered exciting forward thinking football? It’s been absolutely f uckin garbage and if you went to the games you would be like those who screamed for him to leave!!! Nobody liked Val’s style ( including the players ) which was absolute s hite!!!! In fact towards the end it became embarrassing!!!

Don’t see Newcastle have improved under Howe despite the money spent and still being spent!

In summary - anybody would be better than Val with the boring tripe he served up! No wonder seats were ripped out at Millwall - it was most likely the only excitement of the day for some who PAID lots of money!

Al I think you over reacted here. What I am saying is we are replacing like for like. Nobody has ever been excited by a Steve Bruce appointment. You said "anybody would be better than Val", I genuinely hope you are just as happy in a few weeks.

But the football under Val has been embarrassing and shocking. I was his biggest fan at the start and defended him. The fan base has turned toxic because of him! Arrogance of the greatest degree - my way or the high way! Even a pub manager has a plan B. I don't expect lots of victories - I didn't expect immediate automatic promotion but is it too much to ask to play decent football like Coventry or QPR or Blackburn? I can't remember the last match with DECENT football regardless of the result! Remind me?

Bruce would be a decent appointment in my book - experienced and certainly not arrogant. I say again - where's the huge improvement at Newcastle since Bruce left and they have spent millions? I can't see it and I would rather have Bruce than Howe! What has Howe achieved?

I don't condone player power but will say this - how many people work better under a manager who inspires them - gives them confidence and looks forward to coming to work! The opposite - what does it do when a manager is s hite - does not give confidence to staff - does not have a two way buy in on delivery! It's a fact of life in employment that staff work better under a manager they like - trust - have confidence in as opposed to an arrogant w anker who is right up their own backside!

This is going to work out great......I though he was badly treated but remained dignified when been sacked by Newcastle...How nice would it be if we get promoted and take the place of Newcastle.....
As they say...'You couldn't write this stuff'
