    Everton - v - Leeds United *** Matchday Thread***

    TEAM NEWS

Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who was an unused substitute for Tuesday's defeat at Newcastle, has fully recovered from a minor injury.

Demarai Gray misses out with a hip problem, *****ii Mykolenko remains sidelined and Yerry Mina faces a 10-week lay-off because of a thigh injury.

Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa will select from an unchanged squad.

Junior Firpo is expected to return next week, while Kalvin Phillips and Liam Cooper are building up their fitness.

    MATCH FACTS

    Head-to-head

Leeds won away to Everton in the league for the first time in 14 attempts last season, with Raphinha scoring the only goal.

They have not won back-to-back league visits to Goodison Park since November 1976.

    Everton

Everton can lose five consecutive league matches for the first time since equalling a top-flight club record of six straight defeats in October 2005.

Nine**** points is their lowest tally after 21 games of a Premier League season.

They have already lost 12 league fixtures in 2021-22, only one fewer than in the entirety of last season.

The Toffees have only managed one win and five points in 14 matches. It's the worst record in the Premier League since mid-October.

Everton have lost an unrivalled 14 home games since the beginning of last season.

Frank Lampard has beaten Marcelo Bielsa in their two most recent meetings: 4-2 away with Derby in the Championship play-off semi-finals, and 3-1 at home with Chelsea in the Premier League last season. Bielsa won the first three encounters.

    Leeds United

Leeds can remain unbeaten in three consecutive Premier League away matches for the first time since October to November 2002.

They have registered three goals in three of their four league games in 2022, having failed to score more than twice in any of their opening 18 fixtures this season.

However, Marcelo Bielsa's side have conceded 15 goals in their past four away league matches.

Raphinha has scored in Leeds' three Premier League games against Everton since promotion.

    0 - 2.

    Everton fans views https://www.toffeetalk.com/topic/330...12th-february/

Heavy rain & blustery conditions at Goodison Park I hear from friends arriving for match so could be a lively affair on/off the pitch.

It sounds ridiculously harsh to say a new manager with a substantial injury list faces a “must-win” game in his third match in charge, but that is precisely the predicament Lampard & Everton are in. Tuesday’s defeat at Newcastle enabled Lampard to see first hand what Everton fans forums have known for too long, that they have an error prone team lacking in character.
So an alarming mix for a relegation fight they're in & not sure which way this one will go for us as we can open up a welcome points gap with victory over a Everton side that have taken a pitiful 6 points from the last 45 available.

Hopefully we can keep mute the Goodison roar.

C’mon Leeds big 3 points would do nicely!

Rapha hasn’t really sparkled for us for a few games not that he had been bad far from it so maybe this is his day to grab a few goals

Needs to weather the early pressiure that they will bring - then silence the crowd, then score - get their crowd onto their backs and we can then do em big style!

Wishfull thinking I know - but always optomistic!

The last thing we need is Dallas to be injured.
