I thought he had been dead years but he's alive and 86.
There used to be a game on one of the radio stations, can't remember if it was Absolute or Planet Rock, called dead or alive.
Two contestants would phone in and they would read out celebrities names to them and they would have to say whether they were dead or alive.
I think it would be a great game around the pub. Better than dominoes anyway.
If you like playing 60s style soul guitar check out Soul/Motown Rhythm Guitar lesson EP325 by Active Melody on youtube. I'm too much of a Ludite to figure out how to post link I'm afraid!😞 If it's not teaching you to "suck eggs" you may enjoy!
Been playing guitar myself for many years on and off but only recently started getting into it again. In the old days you very much had to learn by playing the record and constantly lifting the stylus on and off all the time and what sheet music there was was both expensive and hard to get hold of (as well as often being quite inaccurate! ). So much easier today to learn with tutors like Marty Schwartz and Justin Sandercoe on YouTube and all the free guitar tabs available too.
Am now trying to learn keyboard too -which I'm finding much much harder! Im currently using Meridee Winters books which are designed with guitarists/vocalists in mind and more chord based than traditional piano tutors like the Kenneth Baker one but I guess at some point I'll have to make the effort to read music. It's a good hobby, learning to play an instrument though and I recommend it for anyone who finds themself with a bit more time on their hands. Like most things in life you only get out what you put in but it can be both enjoyable and rewarding. My Only regret is that I can't sing for toffee so can't accompany myself 😞
