    Abramovich sanctioned by UK.

About time too. Abramovich and other oligarchs have been getting away with financial murder for years.

What are the implications for wider ownership of Premiersh?te clubs? Whole structure built on dodgy money.

    Long live Chairman Stewie!

I think the Everton guy has already pulled out, mentioned in the other thread.

Bournemouth is owned by a Russian.

Bournemouth is owned by a Russian and West Ham is 27% owned by a Russian.
Listening to Simon Jordan on Talksport ranting on about wider issues of ownership. I like Jordan, he talks a lot of sense.

BTW West Ham is acually 27% owned by a Czech that's why I changed it.

He has British citizenship though so he's exempt from sanctions

That's your job gone if you work in the club shop or in the attached Chelsea hotel

If Chelsea fans keep chanting his name I would hope TV companies refuse to screen their games. Personally I would make them play behind closed doors. Had to laugh at David Mellor yesterday; sanction Putin but not Chelsea he said. When Montague asked why he'd supported his takeover in the first place he said nobody knew of his ties to the regime. "Oh, yes, they did," she said. "I didn't" says DM. How could he? Only an MP until 1997 and minister until 1992. Had responsibility for Soviet Union at FO under Thatcher but didn't know of A's links to Yeltzhin, his role as governor of Russian province or that he personally recommended ex-KGB man Putin to be appointed Yeltzhin's successor. Haha.
