    Shrewsbury Town Post Match Thoughts

After seeing what happened a couple of weeks ago I think many feared what happened today would happen, and it did. Wrong team selection, bad sending off, or just a team that like Fleetwood simply had our measure? A three week rest now from league play to mend some tired bodies but perhaps more importantly mend some tired minds before what no doubt will be a very taxing and very tiring April. It's still in our own hands and there's still 15% of the season left to finish off what we've started.

    Thoughts on today?

Tired bodies are easy to address over this time period

The seeming loss of self belief and psychological fragility are a different matter and playing with this level of underlying anxiety could lead to a collapse in form. How we perform over a full 90 minutes, including dealing with setbacks will tell us quickly whether we'll bounce back or spend another season in L1 - I'd fear for us in the Championship on recent showing

Thrown away by a ridiculous team selection. Everybody could see the obvious thing to do, start with our best XI and get more points on the board. Why leave Wood, Ogbene, Miller, Harding... on the bench. So they could rest before the 2 week break? Mcdonald has been poor since he came back, why start him? Warne has blown the title and put automatic promotion in serious jeopardy. Naive.

I have to agree with every word......when I saw the team my immediate thought was ''it's as if Warne thinks we have a game on Tuesday!'' Simply baffling.

spot on leeds - our manager is out of his depth when the s-hit hits the fan - clueless and seemingly indifferenent with his arms crossed all afternoon. Something not right in the dressing room for me - the players look frightened. Someone on here said a few weeks back that Warne is a 'bottler' - they were right.

twitch, that was me but you won't be popular on here agreeing with me even though I'm right. Warne has gone. I see it in his eyes and hear it in his words. But not what the boys want to hear. So as I predicted weeks ago we'll finish 3rd and lose in the play-off semi-finals.

poor team selection why drop chieo and play tutu who is a waste of loan.
warne and co need to go away and come back with a proper plan b hopefully injured players will be fit again.
when we play pur next home match we could be third.

why did warne play madonald instead of harding. wood i can understand. i think our form has dropped since grigg got injured.

rant over as im seething league one leaders and we going to end up in playoff due to warne 6 years and he still isnt able to adapt

I think the fact that McDonald has struggled is plain for (nearly) all to see. My fear is that Paul Warne doesn`t want to tell Angus he isn`t up to standard. We are all desperate to see him succeed after all he has gone through, but we cannot afford the errors he is making at the moment.
The other question today`s debacle begs is, what has Harding done wrong? He is one of our best defenders, be it central or otherwise. If he gets a game just lately it`s as a wing back!
We can still do this, BUT we need to play our best 11 in the remaining games with no pandering to Paul Warnes buddies, Mattock and McDonald.

I agree with that Phill. To not play Harding is ridiculous and such a waste of a good player.I fully expected to see a back three of Ickie Reg and Harding.Angus is way off the mark and before he was sent off he could have had a card through his bad timing and not being fully tuned up.We are still top but we must use the players we have, in a much better formation to win the matches we need.
