In all honesty mate im not dissapointed at all , it wouldnt suprise me if that was their intention !! It also frees up my time not having to watch games played in a country that is corrupt and no football history, Italy not being there weakens the Competition , but also gives the lesser nations eg England a better chance 🤭, i can't say i was looking forward to these Finals to start with , I was hoping England would pull out of going also, Good Luck to England though 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 ⚽️👍

Roma my feelings about Italy aren't owt to do with you mate , bit of banter nowt else mi owd .

It's hard to explain the enormity of that night at Wembley last summer and how it affected me .

I'm 60 years old and haven't since us win anything and the more it goes on and the closer we get it just hurts all the more .

I only want to see us lift one major trophy before I go to another place , just one is all I ask .

In my lifetime Italy have won two World Cups and the Euros and made several finals .

They can't complain is my point because I'm sure they'll win them both again while I'm still on this earth anyroad .

A know it's only banter and I luvvit , thas called mi allsoorts ova years on here Joe Dimagio etc etc no offence taken either, av ed Arseido calling or refering to me in all soorts of way's the 2hat ! A dunt mind any of that , in fact I find it funny , Al be follorin England and hoping they win the tournament , I see where your coming from about winning a Major Trophy ( the biggest) I watched the final in 66 , 2 weeks later I started work 15 yr old , time flys by , but I remember it as if it was yesterday , I'm not sure if it was the first match in 1966 it may have been ?? My brother and me went to Hillsborough a Friday night game Germany v Switzerland 4-2 ? and the atmosphere was amazing , Hope you get to see them win Animal , good luck ,

Who'd have thought that the mighty Italy would fail to qualify for successive World cups? Certainly not me. Bonkers.

Having said that, it shows the gradual improvement of international teams over the last few years. The teams such as Maccedonia, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Austria, Albania, Turkey, Iceland, Denmark etc have learned how to compete at the higher end of international football. They're well set up, organised and difficult to beat.

It's a good thing that it's getting more competitive. Perhaps it's to the detriment of the of the game as a spectacle because setting up for a draw in the big games means there's a lot of frustration and the games become more Chess like. However, there's nowt in the rule book that sez thy ez to laik attack minded in ivry game. It's up to the teams with better quality players to find a way of unlocking the door.

I dint see the Italy Macedonia game last neet but Macedonia went away to the reigning European champions, kept a clean sheet and pinched it late on. Fair play when all said and done.

Who would have swapped winning the Euro's last year for not qualifying for two successive world cups with no guarantees ?

I'd have personally bitten your hand off to have seen Harry Kane lift that trophy last summer at Wembley .

Same here Ethel, and believe me its only a mutual feeling. Because they've always shown us that same sort of contempt. 😴
