MillersMad Matchthread - Gillingham v The Millers

We keep getting these chances of being in a position of over acheiving and I'm not talking about just this season! I'm thinking of the one off matches like Cardiff, Shrewsbury and Leyton Orient which means we take away a big fat prize. Today's prize is another crack at the Championship but it seems different. It seems like we have a free hit with an abeit difficult safety net of the Play-offs to fall into.

It's been a remarkable season with many more highs than lows. A season of records broken by the team and management with one more great acheivement to aim for! The double! The Papa Johns Trophy is the highest ranking cup that we'll ever get close to winning and this season we ripped it apart, although the final was tighter than we'd have liked but still, it doesn't say how you won it on the trophy only that you did and by how many!
The second part of the double is the most important one! Promotion! We could have had this league wrapped up a month ago but a terrible run which left us relying on other results. The other results went our way but was that just pressure? Our form certainly dipped but realistically the team that could have seen us playing in the play-offs fell apart when they went into the automatic promotion spots.

So it comes down to today! A trip to Gillingham where a win will see us gain automatic promotion but it could also see us win the league!! I beleive that almost 2000 Millers will be there at Gillingham today, it's a fantastic effort!! Many more thousands will be watching world wide hoping, praying and willing on the Millers to get that result that will see us play in the Championship one more time!

R.I.P. Clar may you rest in peace.

Enjoy the match guys and dolls!

I seem to be in the minority but I feel very confident and I have no doubt that we will beat Gillingham comfortably and MK won’t score at Plymouth

I am confident but I am trying to make myself not too over confident, as if whatever my feelings are will do to effect the outcome…the football fan psyche is a funny old thing..!

If MK fail to score then it's job done barring a hammering

Good luck to everyone connected to the Millers. Here’s hoping for a return to the Championship and to stay there. Great season and arguably one of the best teams we’ve seen for a while. Promotion deserved and the lads will turn up today and win comfortably ……..

No calamities and we win this. Rathbone runs in 6.30 at Doncaster tonight. He'll have to get a move on !

Fully agree Scum, I feel very confident also, against a team who have the worst home record in the division, and I'm sure both Wigan and especially MK would trade our opponents for theirs. UTM

You guys sound very confident about us winning. I'm a nervous wreck but I know that if we play like we've played in our last two games then we should be too strong for Gillingham. Enjoy the game all you lucky ones who've travelled down there and I hope the sun is shining down on you all like it is here back in Rotherham. Up The Millers.

The Gills have the worse home record and fewest goals scored at home in the League. We've set lots of new records this season, just cocentrate and don't break any records we don't want............0-2......UTM.
