General consensus back then was that we were 'collapsing' and were lucky that COVID came along and rescued us when in reality what we went through in 2020 pales into insignificance compared to what we overcame this season. We lost 3-0 at Rochdale (admittedly it was a poor display) but prior to that we had drawn at home to MK Dons and away at table topping Coventry. In fact in the 8 games before the season was prematurely ended we had won 4, drawn 3 and lost just 1 (1.88 PPG compared to an overall 1.77 PPG over the full 35 games)
Nobody knows what would have happened in those un-played 11 games so let's stop feeling we got promoted via the back door. We earned it back then just as much as we did on Saturday.
