Are we going to do a “Mike Bassett” in the near future?!!!
Great film at the time, so typical of the way the England football team were being run by the England heirarchy. So true in many aspects.

The way women have had to fight our own FA to get a bit of parity on the football field really was disgraceful.
I'll bet spaces on the band wagon are very limited now.![]()
BT I bet they’ll want to jump on the bandwagon and get a piece of the action now. I never realised that the women’s wages were so low. I also believe they should find a way to play their games at the proper stadiums, instead of some obscure non league ground, miles away.
The last figures I saw showed the average WSL gate was under 4,000. In which case they're not going to get paid very much, and they're much better off keeping out of big stadiums. Do they really want to play in front of huge empty stands ?
I’d like to think they’ll get a few more when their new season starts, if they go about it the right way, it could be on the verge of taking off. There’s a lot of hard work going on behind the scenes I’m sure.
Be interesting to see if it does take off now, if it doesn't, it won't be for lack of effort and publicity from the media, especially the BBC, which will be pushing it non stop now, not that they weren't before. I can see the games getting more and more exposure on live TV, but will this translate to bums on seats in the stadiums ? I'm not convinced it will.
I’m not sure it will take off to the extent they’d like because most women don’t like football - there is the answer - it’s predominantly a male driven sport , not being ***ist there by the way I’ve posted on the thread running how good they were and entertaining with no egos and no rolling about ( the men could learn from that )
Imo anyway money has ruined football and reality is it will again for the ladies but not at the same levels as it’s supply on demand and if we’re honest we’re swamped with football on tv now - is there room for another 100 fixtures televised - what times can they be televised ?
The answer I think is no - but good look to em I say the football I watched is good ( are all the players that good though - or is it a lesser standard in WSL etc.
I’ll watch a few a few I think but I can’t see it getting to where the mens game is without convincing a lot of women to suddenly have an interest- maybe in three generations time it could happen.
The whole idea of the Cultural Marxists is to destroy from within Sinkov.Football is a culturally male dominated sport from the players to the fans so it looks like they have set their targets on that now.I dont watch womens football because after 30 minutes you realise it is like womens boxing-slower,not as intense, less skillful and just pretentious-you know there is an agenda pushing it.The BBC now regularly have it on their main page when no fecker gives a toss about it.
I am happy for the England womens team for winning something but lets not promote it simply because our men cannot win anything.
For a start I agree with Ian Wright, put footy on the PE curriculum for girls and let nature take its course.
Rome was not built in a day so there is no point in trying to overly promote women's football because right now there is not the depth in talent to get bums on seats.![]()
In our local junior school( which John Toshack and a few others ) started kicking a ball about, they don’t have a football team of any sort. The only time they play football is in the school yard at play time. Teachers no longer give up their “ free time” after school or every Saturday morning. When I was growing up, we couldn’t get enough football, and teachers were always happy to encourage you to take part. We went all over the city playing against other schools at the time.
It’s good to see girls playing alongside boys in several sports- rugby being the most noticeable being Wales national sport. Unless the mentality changes in the near future , I don’t see it progressing as they’d like it to. It’s over to the education authorities to make this happen.
