    Statement from chairman mark ogren

    Dear Supporters,

I would like to address the current situation amid what has been a largely disappointing start to the on-field campaign.

A string of poor performances and unacceptable results led to the board making the decision to relieve Jack Ross of his position as Head Coach. Such actions are never taken lightly and, as a board, we took a period of reflection and information gathering after Sunday’s game before coming to our decision.

This has been a horrendous run of results for the club and for that we apologise unreservedly to our fans. However, it is my belief that the tools and infrastructure remain in place for us to achieve success on the field. This will require everyone to be united behind what we are trying to do.

In the almost four years of ownership at this club, we have achieved nearly all of our goals and objectives earlier than expected and as a board, we believe we can take things even further soon. I am confident the players, staff, executive team, and board currently in place are the ones to take us forward alongside a new Head Coach.

As we begin the process of looking for our new Head Coach, please know this will take some time and I ask you all to remain patient and supportive.

Your support has been exceptional, both in terms of ticket sales and vocal backing and I know you simply crave success for our club. I can assure you I share that craving and certainly expect we will again soon be seeing performances in which we can all be proud.

Sportsound trying their best to pick holes in the chairman's statement - honestly their hatred for our club is absolutely off the page . Ashgar alluded to it last season - but it clear as day the media has a strong hatred for United

One great thing we have learned tonight , is Levein has ruled himself out of being the next manager . Absolute clown of a manager since he left us and he is now more suited to his amateur comedy roles he has with the BBC

The statement says very little except pledging loyalty to Tony Asghar taking us forward.

It’s a very bland standard statement, not sure what their is to dissect. levein discussing Utd regime bit ironic given he made complete mess of a similar set up at hearts.

I don't think they were hammering United on Sportsound tonight but they were stating the FN obvious when everyone agreed that something is not right at Tannadice.Senior pro's Charlie and Tony were mentioned but the pundits admitted that although there are rumours about dressing room unrest they were not privy to that information.

So once we have removed the manager we will be seeing better performances. The players that have come in and are being paid more than the wage structure are certainly making their presence felt. I wouldn't bother hiring another manager, some egos at the club seem to think they are in charge. If it is found that they are to blame I'd ask them to relocate to Dundee or seek pastures new.

There has been a lot of blame for the players among the fans. They are the ones on the pitch making us suffer but, ultimately, it's the head coach's responsibility if we get a scudding like Sunday. Mostly the same players have performed for us last season so if he couldn't get that (and it's not even remotely close to that) out of them then he has to go.

I'm normally the first one to say a new head coach needs time but results have been so bad his position was utterly untenable.

My first reaction when Ross was mentioned for the job back in June was that I was not keen, he had more managerial fails than success in my opinion and could not see how it was going to work but never in my life did I think it would turn into such a monumental disaster.

In every walk of life there are people who work for you that won't like you but as a leader/manager it your job to get them to perform, footballers are maybe a little more temperamental and difficult to deal with for sure but that's the modern coaches role. I watched Ross during the slaughter on Sunday and he barely got off his backside. Any manager worth his salt would have been at least trying to get some sort of reaction to the unfolding disaster.

I was alarmed during pre season at how disjointed we were and hoped it was down to fitness but as we know it got far worse. It best he went now in order to give time to regroup. Big Dunc or O'Neil next for me but whoever it is, all I know is we will get behind him and the team to get us out of this mess.
