Holy crap Botman and Schar on the bench! Could be another 9-0 with Lascelles at the back

He’s gone for a more recognised defence at full back, to combat Salah, Wouldn’t have fancied Burn against Salah,he’s not a full back. Apparently Schar has carried a few knocks so makes sense to rest him for this one and back at weekend. Good to see Fraser in.

Double whammy Lascelles and Longstaff start good to see Isak starting though.

Best hope is for Isak to score on the break or a Trippier free kick i reckon.....that involves us having the ball at some point mind

I think it must be workload management, games coming thick and fast with a more realistically winnable game at the weekend.

I think he knows we are on a hiding and not too bothered if Lascelles gets injured so he is protecting Schar and Botman.

    That was my thought to.

Happy to see Isak start. He’s fresh and a relatively unknown quantity for the opposition. I’m a little surprised we’ve rested both centre halves but kept Tripps in the team who was clearly struggling late on against Wolves. Away to Liverpool is a free swing so lets get in their faces and show them how much better we are than last season.

I hope Anderson gets a decent amount of minutes in the second half - I’ve been quite impressed with him so far this season.
