    Starmer Is Correct

Why should tax payers foot the bill for the billions in freezing the price cap! Energy companies will make obscene profits and other EU Countries are applying windfall taxes!!!

Why not in the U.K. so the Board of Directors of these energy companies will take huge bonuses and laugh at those who are made to pay!

This is everything I hate about the Tories. People then moan about the NHS and the lack of talent and the lack of newly qualified doctors and surgeons! Why the f uck would talented kids want to go into medicine with huge debts from university fees and a pathetic maintenance loan? They are even shafted by a huge 9% interest applied on these loans for f uck sake! When less and less kids go into medicine and more die due to cancers and lack of staff then that’s tough!!! Blame the Government!

At least Scotland invest in talented kids but hey many are quick to slate them!

People should pay for a university education, it's a personal life choice and you don't have to pay anything back until you're earning over £25k anyway.

If I was a ****ager again, I'd be happy to pay for an investment in my own future.

Scotland are a financial basket case kept afloat by the per person subsidy we have to pay them which gives each of their populous an advantage over our own in England!

Where I don't agree with Truss is on this reluctance to hit the energy companies with huge windfall taxes, this is a vote winner and absolute common sense.

The energy giants like BP have already stated a willingness to hand over some of these profits without any reduction to investment in developing cleaner energy, it's all the usual ploy to appease her tory mates with skin in the game. The nation is £2trillion in debt, WTF will that look like in 10 years!

The thing is WCV, expressing a "willingness" is empty rhetoric, you don't need to "express" anything........you simply send "X" amount to HMRC via an arrangement or consultation and then tell us all afterwards what you've done.

    Actions speak louder than words.

    Exactly!!!
The CEO of BP made this comment about being willing to pay more tax months ago when we had the 50% rise in April but he wont actually do anything unless the government force him to.
Truss's idea of getting ordinary tax payers to take on a kind of mortgage that will lead to a long term financial burden in order to pay for a freeze on energy prices now, rather than utilize a windfall tax on the big energy companies says it all really.

Everybody should pay or the debt should build up until there’s a court order. Why should someone who does well pay and some who don’t get let off! Hardly a fair system!! Perhaps the hefty interest fees payable on the loans to rip students off goes into a pot to subsidise those who don’t pay or have fees written off!

Catch 22 - many are reluctant to follow medicine due to being saddled with a huge debt and living on a pathetic maintenance loan for 5 years. If talent follows another career because of this and clearly they do - nobody should moan at the lack of doctors/surgeons resulting in deaths and people dying of cancers due to long waiting lists. Can’t have it both ways! I applaud therefore talented kids who think f uck it and medicine not for me and the NHS is not my problem. The NHS gets more broken year after year and people wonder why! But hey people need to look after number 1 in life as the rich clearly do!

Scotland have it right in investing in their kids and not forcing the elderly to pay parking fees at hospitals, I refuse to pay any parking at hospitals as always say - from Scotland and in any event I have no money! Never paid a dime and never will out of principle!

The NHS wastes a vast amount of our money, it's a horribly run institution.

It will have no option but to be privatised and heard that from the inner walls! All these poor people paying for private operations now ( or suffer ) will become the norm.

Germany are putting a windfall tax on their energy suppliers for one but hey - not the Tories!

So the CEO of BP if he’s honest should communicate - whilst much of the country are in fuel poverty I will promise to donate any bonus to charity. Would he do this? Would he hell as all greedy c unts!

Could this be the straw that mobilises the masses to protest and force a u-turn as with the hated poll tax?
