    Burial or cremation?

I’m going for cremation but I was reading about The Queen, she’s being embalmed.

It seems quite strange in this modern age to preserve a body, to me it’s hardly putting someone “to rest”, it feels like the casket could be opened for anyone to have a gawk at in the future.

Does anyone know why the bodies of royalty are preserved?

I think the Queen's sister Margaret was cremated?
Remember reading before about temporary movement. Like the queen's husband was buried but he will be moved again to rest beside the queen shortly.
But not sure, it is rather ghoulish.

But from a simple medical stand point, moving around for ten days before burial would allow decomposition to speed up.
So to that end she would already have chemicals injected into her system to help stabilize her condition before burial next Monday.

Pure cremation for us, no funeral, no vicar, no announcement no grave. You won't even know I'm gone.

I trust you’ll have some sort of gathering though Des?

I think you’d be surprised at how many people would turn up to pay their last respects.

I’d even venture over as far as Kingswinford from my place! 😏

If you're being interned like The Queen, do they stitch up the rectum and f a n n y to prevent leakage of body fluids?

    Asking for a friend.

All the fluid is removed from the body, so no leaks, tell your friend....
