    Queens v Alloa

Back to league business this weekend when Queens host an in form Alloa Athletic at Palmerston Park.
Don’t think our defence will be looking forward to facing big Conor Sammon who’s also in top form.

Sad to read also that the New Bazaar closes its doors this Sunday. Their supporters club will continue to run but from somewhere else.

The New Bazaar was a great pub, - and hopefully the supporters club will find a new venue.

Alloa will bring a freshness to the proceedings and it will be interesting to see if Queen's can keep up their good play..............on paper they should, - but as we all know, - paper tears very easily.

The Wasps have been a sting in the tail for Queens over recent seasons and are currently the top scorers so I would expect a much harder game than FC Edinburgh provided over the last two matches but lets keep the momentum going.

Never enjoyed games against Alloa especially under Hartley when it was almost guaranteed to be a bore fest. Hopefully we will send them homeward to think again this weekend.

Missed opportunities have cost us yet again.

Ruari will have nightmares of that miss he hit the post with but that's football. Hope McGrory and Wilson who looked like he was limping a wee bit near the end are OK.

Queens should have had the game wrapped up by half time and if they'd cruised to a 6 or 7 nil victory, none of us would have surprised. My only gripe ( and this will not find agreement with others) is one I've made before : in my humble opinion, the manager should not select himself to start, allowing him to assess the match and make changes to suit the conditions. The strong wind in the first half was crying out for Bange to cause chaos from crosses and set pieces, yet for all our dominance it was a only a brilliant piece of work from Reilly which took us in at half time 1-0.
Wullie had an excellent game yesterday, but he really should have an overview before selecting himself.
In case some argue that I'm only saying this in hindsight, I was asked before the initial whistle and I stated I had grave doubts about Wullie starting.
No doubt this will cause an absolute furore among outraged supporters, but we lost 2 points yesterday and even if we'd won 7-0, I would still say the same thing: the manager should not select himself to start until he has properly assessed the opposition and the conditions on the day.

Queens totally dominant today but a combination of poor luck and finishing cost us the three points our play would have thoroughly deserved. Ironically I was just saying that Fox did not have a save to make when Alloa equalised. We wuz robbed!!!

Certainly the match stats reflected your summary of the game...

The keeper got touch on the shot from Paton which caused it to hot the post as I was right behind it. The nightmare was the sweeping move from the back when he did get his shot on target.
