    O/T:- Morecambe

They could be in bother. There owners are the same group that owned Worcester Rugby Club that went to the wall last week.

Sounds like they've done a bit of a Bury, one minute they're scrapping to stay in the football league the following season promoted to League 1. I'd say they'll probably go the same way as Bury as the debt will be far more than anyone is willing to take on.

They'll struggle to get any ''investor'' to take on that level of debt for a club that size. Haven't all the rules governing ''admin'' changed in recent years?

I think the £25m refers to Worcester Warriors debt. The Morecambe FC balance sheet for last year showed approximately £2m of debt for the football club, so on the face of it considerably less than what Bury had. The club made a profit in 2021 of c£700k and actually paid down about £300k of debt. The fact that their owner is going bust is problematic but I suspect that there will ultimately be someone prepared to buy them.

Depends on who the debt belongs to. Admin and a CVA could in theory knock that down to £2-3 million, then you have to ask, are Morecambe worth that? To a wealthy fan, probably but do they have anyone to outlay that and also bank roll them? Scary times for them

They would be Wise to resurrect themselves under a better name and start again.

Such a shame if they go to the wall like Bury and the rest, performing wonders at a level they have no right to be in...we all know what it's like to almost lose your club so let's hope they can get bailed out

And that's the point, isn't it? They have no right to be there because they are spending money they don't have or can sustain.

Notts have been just as guilty in the past
