Plain and simple we need a general election, nothing else will reset this mess.
The nerve some people have wanting Boris to make a comeback.. he’s created this mess then prolonged the process of finding a new PM longer because he wanted to stay in office longer.
He’s a complete liar and useless - if that’s what the tory voters want then you have it - damage will come next election. But the issue is we all can’t wait that long for the mess to get sorted out. The country needs fixing now - the current party cannot do it.
Boris own sister doesn’t approve of him. That says it all.
You may then ask well Starmer and co have no answers based on the lack of comments they give on TV. What if, and just what if they do have a solution but not ready to put it out there as they’re saving it for their manifesto. If they put it out now, the useless bunch in charge will only steal the ideas. Sorry if i’ve missed the point here. Someone tell me otherwise.
But for Boris to get back in? What planet are some people on? Name one single unique thing he’s achieved? and please don’t say vaccines and Ukraine.
Interesting isn’t it, almost every member of the public who was interviewed on TV this morning wants Boris back.
Black, white, young, old it was virtually everyone in “Blue Wall” seats.
For every person who hates Boris there seems to be 8 or 9 who like him or are prepared to be fooled by him if we accept your argument Regis.
The next election will be a defeat but I do think it’ll be a much lesser defeat than with anyone else in charge.
Maybe that an indictment of the party.
One thing is for certain, listening to Labour trying to trash Boris today they’re desperate not to see him back.
That says everything.
If BJ is the answer, England would be a global laughing stock, unfortunately…
But, then again, people in the US wanted Trump, and some still do… 😱
I see your point Mick. But come on, you just know this all too well with the BBC. They will whip this up how they want a story to go viral. You could say they hand picked those people and discarded the non-boris fans. But if that is the reality.. then like i’ve said before - we deserve what we get coming our way.
Do you really think Johnson will turn anything around? Who would his choice as chancellor be? If everyone’s answer is Sunak.. it’s likely Boris will choose him.
Labour are probably reacting strongly to it because of the shambles Boris has caused.. rather that see him as a threat.
I’d rather we had mourdant, or even that tory guy who gave that passionate speech on tv the other day. personally i’d like Rory stewart.
I still can’t believe Boris is back in the mix. A deeply flawed character who was voted against by 148 of his own MPs let alone 50+ ministerial resignations. Also someone who is still under investigation by the Complaints Committee which could possibly get him thrown out as an MP. What has changed in the three months since he left to now bring him back. Crazy move. I can understand nutcases like Rees-Mogg and Dorries signing his entry form .... but so-called sensible people like Wallace now doing it. It’s as though many in the Tory party are living in this parallel universe totally out of touch with the rest of us.
Personally I would be happy with Mordaunt or Sunak. I thought Sunak’s wife had decided some time ago to pay Uk tax. Given her wealth she could easily “curry favour” by supporting some charities for the poor and underprivileged. I always thought Sunak had the right ideas and the communications skills to go with it. Mordaunt is a bit more of a gamble ... but she has been sure footed in a few recent showings in Parliament and the Queen’s funeral. Is it just me ... but she is a great looking girl as well. Can see her creating impact wherever she goes. She also uses humour and seems a natural communicator. Either would be fine for me ... and a huge improvement over Truss or Boris.
Interesting words from Sir Charles Walker:
'As a Tory MP for 17 years, who’s never been a minister, who’s got on with it loyally most of the time, I think it’s a shambles and a disgrace. I think it is utterly appalling.
I’m livid and, you know, I really shouldn’t say this but I hope all those people that put Liz Truss in No. 10. I hope it was worth it. I hope it was worth it for the ministerial red box. I hope it was worth it to sit around the cabinet table, because the damage they have done to our party is extraordinary.
I’ve had enough. I’ve had enough of talentless people putting their tick in the right box, not because it’s in the national interest, but because it’s in their own personal interest to achieve a ministerial position'.
Pretty damning, I wonder what he thinks of Boris Johnson.
I've reached the point where I just find it all hilarious {I know I shouldn't!) so I would love Boris back! Like with any good soap opera, it's the twists that keep you interested! And the twists in soap operas are often completely absurd. I don't think it will happen. He wouldn't be able to find enough people to serve in his cabinet. But it would make me laugh!
