Very nice, makes it look simple, doesn’t he? There’s some basic techniques in there but bringing all the basics together is what makes some guitarists good. Interesting what he says about being in tune with the vocalist’s feel for a song, you often hear bands where the lead guitarist, especially, goes off on a trip of his own! Lots of those session players really are so very good.

Think he was one of the members of the famed Wrecking Crew group of session musicians. He also played the guitar line on the Monkees' "Last train to Clarksville". Always liked this solo from "Hello" though and the middle chord comping style part always reminds me a bit of Wes Montgomery. Thanks for posting, I enjoyed that!👍

Hi you are right he was part of the Wrecking crew and mentioned Wes Montgomery has a big influence.
Carol Kaye was another member, who played on the Beach boys good vibration and came up with the famous lick.

Seen this one before but an interesting watch. The Wrecking Crew contained so many great players over the years including guitarists Glen Campbell, James Burton, Barney Kessel and Tommy Tedesco as well as drummer Hal Blaine and keyboardist Leon Russell. As a bass player Carol Kaye has got to be up there with the likes of James Jamerson. I was aware of the Wrecking Crew for a while but wasn't until I read a couple of books on them and watched the documentary that I realised just how good Glen Campbell really was. So sad to watch clips of him during his last concerts as Alzheimer's took its toll.
