We are top of the league with the best goal difference and playing attactive football.We got 16 new players in over the Summer and if anybody had offered us this position after 20 games we would have bitten their hand off.
Yes we were turned over today but there are mitigating circumstances.Young team still getting used to the intensity of the Championship, a team that is still gelling, a team that is without Twine who was supposed to be our main goal threat and without Jayrod and Brownhill.Add to that the fact Sheffield had an extra days rest and home advantage then the result was half expected.
Yes it hurts but I tgink we are in a very healthy position compaired to what we all expected.A result against Rovers would be a great tonic before the World Cup break.Then another massive game against QPR after the break.After that we will know how we stand.

There were some on here suggesting that we would struggle to stay in the Championship this season. An amazing performance overall.

In the post match interview VK suggested some tiredness with the short turn around for this match.

Should he have played some of the other squad players who are not really getting a look in? Fresher legs and minds?

Personally, I would have played Lowton, Long and Barnes. We needed the muscle and the experience and "No" I am not kidding.

Could not agree more BT. This game when Jay was not playing was screaming out for Barnes. Tella was none existent against strong experience physical defenders. It's not his thing playing striker; he needs to feed off someone else. Battling game needed battling players. I would have even played Taylor alongside Long today. They are as you say on the books getting a pay packet so why not play them knowing Sheffield are a physical side!!

A bit of a strange team selection really. With the match on Wednesday and the early game against SU, as well as the physicality of SU, playing some of the other squad members might have made sense.

Perhaps VK does not really trust Long and Taylor and does not see Barnes as the right type of player. He could have played the Turkish lad though. He is a striker, was in the right place at the right time against Rotherham.
