Everybody happy with the ref yesterday?

WMR commentators and Bomber seemed delighted she kept things moving throughout the game.
    Didn't see the game.
    Anybody?

I didn’t really notice her much as the game progressed, which is probably a sign that she had a decent game; ideally you shouldn’t notice the ref during a match.

Some referees let things go to see how moves develop and whether advantage can be gained. This is good refereeing, especially when they halt play if no advantage is gained.

Others let things go for an easier life. This is what I saw on a number occasions yesterday. As refs go I thought she was quite weak and lacked authority.

While we all want to focus on the football she hid in plain sight a number of times and halted it when she really didn't need to on others.

Welch was inconsistent but in all honesty I have seen much worse along with some frankly ridiculous decisions from male counterparts.

That said we lacked presence and were poor ourselves for much of the game so I am not going to blame the ref for our overall performance or the final score.

    On to the replay........

She was far better than many of her male counterparts in that she didn’t make the day all about her like Dean, Clattenburg, Poll abs Jeff Winter abs many others have done.

Letting some stuff go as you put it “for an easy life” is not necessarily a bad thing as long as it’s the same for both sides.

We played poorly but in reality it was an exciting game of football with Chesterfield raising their level and with her style of reffing.

A “proper” game of football IMO and if that’s her style then I’d be happy to watch matches she’s in charge of.

Agree with most of your first paragraph but being a sh it male ref doesn't make a female ref who lacks authority any better.

Also agree with your third paragraph but then I'd already mentioned the points covered in both.

Talking of points if your earlier post's anything to go by I can think of another couple of hers you'd be more than happy to see too.

I'm not having a pop at her being female, I just don't think she reffed the game as well as you did.

As for Chesterfield they didn't raise their level, that's generally how they apply themselves and it's why they're in rich form.

We on the other hand made too many changes, were disjointed and those selected clearly lacked motivation, timing and match fitness on the whole.

They did raise their level, if they played like that every week they’d be romping their division.

We didn’t play horribly, we lacked intensity and were too slow in possession, especially Livermore and Reach.

This was nearly another “Woking” but in reality it wasn’t, we were truly pathetic and outclassed on that day but yesterday we looked okay in parts but just lacked zest and seemed to take it too easy every time we took the lead.

I thought we were lazy in mind and body 68 but I was impressed with them, I watch a lot on non league football and they were as good as I’ve seen at that level.

I can see them going up and doing well in the next few seasons.
