Whenever I listen or watch players like Tommy, Mike Dawes or Andy McKee-or Sungha Jung for that matter-it almost makes me want to give up trying to play guitar😞😁! Playing a mixture of melody and bass lines along with chords and rhythm on solo guitar is nothing new but the modern advanced finger style seems just so far advanced beyond what earlier folk players like Davey Graham were doing or even the great blues or classical players.I

Doubtless he took from others before him but Tommy Emanuel was the first player who came to my attention who used the guitar as a "one man band " thing and has influenced many since who have taken the possibilities of acoustic guitar even further. Comes across as a nice bloke too.

Just took my guitar to the charity shop after watching him.
