Bob Geldof falls foul of wokies

Apparently, viewers of This Morning have been venting their anger at poor old Bob for neglecting to reference Sam Smith with the "correct" pronouns of "they/them" and continued to blithely call him (yes, him &#128512 Sam or " he" when recalling how they once worked on a charity song together. WTF!! To borrow Mick's phrase " makes my piss boil"!

All this exaggerated sense of self entitlement around self identification does my head in. Sam Smith even talks of himself as being a "fisherthem" rather than a "fisherman" when talking about his hobby! I genuinely don't care what Sam Smith's ***uality is or isn't but he has a dick so he is a "he" not a "them/they" which is a plural pronoun. His ***ual attention orientation has nothing to do with it.

As normal, a shouty minority are trying to enforce their views on the majority and claim that anyone refusing to agree with them is obviously bigoted and being discriminatory.

Tbh, I always thought that the viewing demographics for "This Morning " would be mostly middle aged or retired as most other people would be at work? Not the age group I generally associate wokeness with. Maybe it's because most wokies don't work ?

As for the recent furore over rewriting Dahl, I agree with JK Rowling who said something along the lines that the censorship or banning of books was the last resort of those without the intellect to argue or debate. She is not alone in this view and people like Barrack Obama, Stephen Fry and Rowan Atkinson have all made similar points on "being offended" regarding the dangers of "cancel culture" on free speech. You do not fight hate or bigotry with censorship, you fight it with discussion.

Makes me despair. Mind you, could simply be that I am just getting old of course and as a (obviously "privileged") white 60 plus hetero***ual male I am not only out of touch but clearly have "unconscious biases" against race/LGBTQ and anything else going...

If "They" are "Them" then shouldn't "they" be paying twice as much council tax?

I think that the way to beat this stupid ‘they/them’ rubbish is that the rest of the population, which is the vast majority, remain calling these people by the name of the *** that they were born with, that is, ‘he or she.’

This is only gaining traction due to mainstream media giving it oxygen.

It’s self perpetuating at that point because most presenters are now so achingly Woke that they are desperate to be seen as “on trend” and just give it momentum.

30 year from now, todays Wokerati will be getting denounced by an even more radical bunch of Woke f u c k wits.

The irony of this for me is that they cannot seem to see just how much like radical Islamist’s and the Taliban that they are, they operate the same “cancel” type culture as the sorts of groups they denounce.

If free speech and free expression ( within the law ) is not allowed then by definition you’re living within a totalitarian regime.

I would probably be considered to have quite liberal views around most of the issues that get debated on here but I will never use a plural to describe an individual! It's bonkers!

If you’re born with a willy then you are male, born with a vagina you are female end of.
All these people claiming various genders, of which there seems to laughingly loads just seem to want to be noticed, Mike wanting to be called Michelle fine by me but don’t expect me to to be brainwashed by this crap.
As far as Sam Smith is concerned, can’t bear to look at him, makes me physically sick

I see it very simply, if you have a nob and balls then you are a he and use the blokes toilet, if you choose to truly change gender(you cannot change ***) and have said nob and balls chopped off, then I have no issue with you referring to yourself as she and using the ladies. You can’t be both or choose both as pronouns, that’s just nonsense.
