    Hs2

    What a complete f u c k fest this scheme is.

Once again, the middle of England up to the north gets f u c k e d over as well as the cross country routes.

Meanwhile, back on planet Elite the Brum to London but carries on as normal.

All under the guise of “saving money”.

What utter tosh, it’ll cost far more to build in the future than it will now albeit I don’t expect it’ll get done in the next 30 to 50 years.

Look what’s happened with this project up to now with costs, they’ve gone through the roof due to inflation over the past two years.

Best time to have built this was from 97 under Blair, a massive missed opportunity by Labour I believe.

It’s scandalous that projects like this are used as election gimmicks and then run so badly in terms of planning and budgets that they run out of control.

The lack of business nous by so many so called “self made millionaires” in the Tory party is startling.

Midlands and upwards and across might as well go for independence…….we just don’t count.

The whole HS2 project has been a disaster, an incredible waste of money on an epic scale. For what? A saving of a few minutes on a journey between London and Birmingham (and supposedly, Manchester) on a service that in all probability only the wealthy and business users will be able to afford. As for the Leeds link, that may just be completed before the Andromeda galaxy collides with the Milky Way! Instead, money should have been spent on effective upgrades to existing lines and re-opening old routes, possibly with light electric railways, such as the West Midlands Metro. Such schemes could surely have been delivered in reasonable time scales and might have made sense in the context of the government’s levelling up promises (hahaha). No doubt some worthy contractors (in certain eyes) have made a great deal of money from HS2, at massive cost to the British taxpayers.

All fur coat and no knickers. Style over substance. White elephant. Vanity project.

Hs2 was/is a bloated albatross trying to get off the ground and is representative of an ongoing cliche of failure.

Nice political drawing board idea which grabbed the headlines and made people feel important and relevant but wasn't what was actually required.

Invest in infrastructure and let that infrastructure gain strength to sustain momentum with solid economic foundations before building over them from plans drawn on the back of a fag packet.

    Back to the drawing board.....
