    So proud of Notts

Today hasn't ended the way we all hoped, but we should still so proud of our club. We've gone about everything the right way. Class owners, class manager, class players.

No overpaid individuals dropping down the divisions for a last pay cheque, just a bunch of carefully recruited players coming together to create something very special with an outstanding manager.

This season has been record breaking, and today, a bit heart breaking. Am praying we all get what we deserve at Wembley. Some of us were lucky enough to experience play-off victory at the old Wembley. Let's hope this is the year we do it again.

If we don't finish the job, to me this will be another season of failure.

But for the reasons cher mentions, I never, ever realised there could be such a fantastic, incredible, enjoyable version of failure.

Agree. Whatever happens, Notts have never been a better club imo.

However we look at the future it is positive. Hopefully we enjoy a Wembley victory which will be a fantastic way to win promotion.

If we fail, we know the owners and manager have committed their future to this club. Next season there won't be a Wrexham in the National League and we will surely be the strongest side in this league - even with the changes in playing staff that will happen over the summer. Next season could be another great season.

A friend of mine said recently that we could be promoted into the obscurity of League 2. Whilst I don't entirely agree with him, he does have a point. We have been on TV more times recently than ever we were in League 2. And this season we've been on TV more times than many Premier League clubs. We are the Manchester City or Arsenal of the National League. We are on the front page of the Non League Paper every week. We get bigger crowds than ever we did in League 2. Who would pay us much attention if we were a mid-table League 2 club? Crowds would drop off. Media interest would diminish. We could well drop into League 2 obscurity.

Don't get me wrong I don't wish to limit our ambitions. Just to suggest that the future is not all bleak if we don't go up this season.

To be honest it would be an heroic failure to say the least. Were it not for HollywoodFC we would have been automatically promoted with record points, this is a freakish season to put it mildly. Provided we can keep LW I am confident that even if we managed to fail this season we will do the job next time.

Well said. Let's go on and get our just desserts. On my way back from Maidstone. Not deflated, just looking forward to a glorious day in the sunshine at Wembley. COYP
