    That was harsh on Gordon!

Subbed at half-time. Why? He was one of the only players that looked interested in the first half.

Great comeback in the second half nonetheless.

I know what you mean. He’s going to be good for us but I think he’s not 100% on the same wavelength as the other players yet.
The change swung the game our way - that is all that matters.

We just have to trust the manager, Gordon looked trickey and should have scored, but the subs paid off. We have to start with Wilson AND Isak imo, we are a much more potent threat when they both play. I would play Isak wide, either left or right, with Wilson through the middle and either Murphy or Gordon wide. I’m worried about Lpool, they will not give it up, and neither will Manu. Can we beat the Arse, would love to put one over on that whingeing, bitter manager of theirs, and finish their title hopes, fingers crossed

I trust the manager. That doesn't mean some of his decisions shouldn't be questioned - not necessarily to criticize, more in order to understand why.

To understand why Gordon was subbed and not Murphy? Gordon is still work in progress and yes he had a decent half, but so did Murphy imo. I would like to see Wilson and Isak start, the partnership seems to work. As for the question, I trust Eddie’s decisions even if sometimes some of us might disagree or wonder why?

I'm sure Eddie had a good reason to sub off Gordon, but it wasn't necessarily evident why. Maybe some of you knew. Nothing to do with trust or lack thereof

Actually I think it might be a good time to play Arsenal. By the kick off time MC can be on 82 points with 4 games remaining and Arsenal 75 + whatever they get against Chelsea midweek. So their mood can be low and they look out of steam.
Also, if you see 10pts difference between Newcastle and Arsenal - they got it in August (15 pts against our 6), so we kind of went toe to toe starting september.
I think we can scrape it out

It’s a good chance for us to reset, mentally. We’ll need a 90 minute performance to get 3 points.

    Let’s look at it clearly
1 Gordon in the first 10/15 mins was good but faded after that and missed two really good chances
2 clearly Eddy does not want to risk Isak and Wilson for the full 90 minutes and getting an injury at this time of the season with there injuries early in the seasons and leaving us without a striker
3 Eddy is alternating starting them and it’s working

Plus the Longstaff injury kind of forced his hand from his favoured set up. Gordon puts in a shift and will hopefully grow into our system and style of play after a full pre-season, just not quite in tune yet.
