    End of Season Player Ratings

As proposed by the Birmingham Mail. It’s a reasonable assessment, given that 4 is always going to be the lowest grade.
I think I would probably given Dike 6, and maybe Griffiths 5, overall a fair judgement, but nevertheless a disgraceful reflection in a number of cases!

    Palmer 7, Button 4, Griffiths 6,
    Furlong 6, Townsend 6, Bartley 5, Pieters 6, AJ 6, O’Shea 7, Kelly 5,
    Yoku 8, Molumby 8, Chalobah 4, Livermore 5, Reach 4, Albrighton 4, TGH 5, Grady 6, Wallace 7, Swift 7, Rogic 4, Phillips 6
    Grant 4, Dike 7, Asante 7

Pretty fair Pranders. I might have gone 7 each for furlong and Townsend. Agree with you on dike and not sure whether Grady merits a 7. But overall not bad.

    My amendments would be…….

    …….Palmer 8, Kelly 4, Grady 3, Grant 2 (being generous), Dike 4.

How the Hell do Button, Reach and Grant get rated as high as a 4?

I think Pieters deserves more than a 6, so many of the players spent time out injured it difficult to give anyone higher marks.

Good point. Ajayi has played well but not enough games to judge.

I still remain unconvinced as to his prowess salt buddy. Too many dangerous back passes for my liking, from which we have paid the price. He may well be ‘playing to instructions’ but there does seem to be an inordinate number of passes back to the keeper, often from well up the field.
Having said that, defensively he has been adequate.

I meant this ‘reply’ to be to saltnshake re Pieters !

Hi Prando i agree about his passing but if you have nobody to pass to do we just give possession away by lumping the ball up field? i actually think he did a really good job defensively especially when you consider he is actually a left back, he also clearly played a few games with an injury and i would be tempted to offer him a new contract.

I’d forgotten his LB status. I expect he will be a ‘maybe’ dependent upon the progress of the younger options during the close season. (I would keep him in preference to Bartley, but would not keep both of them)
