    Are we backing Vincent

Just a thought but worryingly we seem to be linked with a lot of players who it also appears we can’t afford.

I do think it’s time the investors put their hands on their pockets and gave VK a fair chance of competing in the premiership.

Whilst on the outside it looks all is Ok worryingly we could be no further forward than under the previous stewardship.

It’s time for the investors to do exactly that invest

We also need to not be stupid. "A fool and his money are soon parted" is a good quote for football. We need to get the right players in; a massive move would be to sign Tella. We have already signed two quality guys; I'd rather have quality than quantity for the premier league.

Totally agree Dave - I was just thinking that the board don’t seem overly interested in investing any of their own money , away from prem tv monies.
We seem to be at a stumbling block at the minute where the quality we need is just out of reach - to compete at this level we’re going to need it that’s all

Seems this latest loan we've taken out is a sort of overdraft facility, so that we can get the next tranche of TV money in advance. Presumably this is going to be used in the transfer market.

It would be a silly move not to back Vinny..Surely Mr Pace will do his best with the funds we have to help him secure some decent signings. Tella would be a bonus, but it's not looking like it's going to happen .

Loftus Cheek just gone for £17m which for me makes Tella look an expensive gamble. Maybe £10m enough for him. Our management must have seen plenty of footage of Tella playing EPL games.

Media driven speculation counts for Jack $hit. I'm 100% certain VK is looking under every stone and is trying to get the deals done he wants done. If the guy is to be believed I was told yesterday Southampton and Chelsea both want £20 million for Maatsen and Tella and neither AP nor VK will agree to pay those fees.

Sinkov at times like these usually advocates a bit of patience, I'm taking his advice on this issue. And breath.

It is far too early in the transfer window to draw conclusions. We don’t know what is actually happening.

Speculation is exactly that. It is part of the joy of football, but whether or not it is true is an entirely different matter.

VK is committed to young talent who can be developed. Our academy has not produced much in that area so I expect to see players from other leagues who command far more sensible fees. £100 million + for Declan Rice. Seriously???

Let’s see what happens over the coming weeks before questioning the financial support or otherwise of the owners.

I'm reading in the papers over here S_c that United are preparing a bid for soandso from Italy and/or Portugal for £70 million and I've never heard of the player in question.

I'm glad VK has his head sat squarely on his shoulders.

Ignoring (just for the moment) whether we think they would or could be good enough. The problem we seem to be running into at the moment, is the issue of player valuations. some of which are are somewhat skew-wiffy...

10mill knocked back for Jack Clarke... The lad hasn't played in the top flight much as of yet.... Not certain whether I would want us to pay any more than that for a player who is relatively unproven.

    Same argument with Zian Flemming.

20 mill for Ian Maatsen is ludicrous. Liked him very much last season, but he ain't worth that.

I'm not overly sure whether 15mill for Nathan Tella isnt a bit over, again considering that he hasnt played in the top flight yet.
