You would hope St Johnstone manage to not lose at home to Stirling. So it is likely to be a battle for two spots between several second placers with 9 points including us hopefully. Morton with a current GD of +4 and home to Edinburgh City could be out of sight so as you say we need two wins and a big boost to the GD.
Importantly we need to beat Dumbarton otherwise we can forget about finishing in second place in this group.
Dumbarton currently have 5 points from 3 games played and we have 3 points from 2 games played. ICT also have 3 points from 3 games played.
If we lose to Dumbarton then Sunday’s game against ICT will be meaningless as Dumbarton will have 8 points from 4 games and neither ourselves nor ICT can equal their points total.
Up early this morning.
Worked it out.
Group A......st j not to lose at home to Stirling
Group B......runners up can't get 9 pts
Group C.....runners up should get 10pts
Group D .....Morton should get 9pts with decent GD maybe plus 6 or 7
Group E.....us
Group F......hopefully killie beat Raith tonight or beat them on pens and puts this group to bed
Group G....only result that ****s us is e fife beating well on pens.
Group H......either forfar to get something in paisley or st m win by a couple.
So we win both, Stirling don't beat st j and Raith don't beat killie we shud get thru by my calcs.
Either of above results go against us and will likely have to win both AND overturn whatever GD Morton have assuming they beat Edinburgh at home.
Not ideal but I'd say maybe 50/50 we will make it.
It will be interesting to see what the attendance is for tonight’s game against Dumbarton. It should be quite good as it is our first home game of this season which includes pre season friendlies.
Bought my ticket yesterday, 4 in front of me, one serving, took 20 minutes to get tickets, boy behind me walked out, seemed to take longer as folk were buying tickets for Sunday as well
