Same here Sinky. 👌
It also follows Burnley v City on Sky Atlantic (ch6) on Friday if anyone misses it,is it a Welcome to Wrexham cash in?
Excellant first episode, who were the other two managers they were talking about, one would have been Fat Sam I'm sure, he fit the description perfectly, even down to being similar to Sean.
Episode 2 and Vinni is explaining how we make it pay. We sell 3/4 of our best players every season. I'm still not convinced that the vast majority of our fans realise what's coming. This is going to be a roller coaster of a ride.
sell to survive, Bob lord will be chuckling in his grave.
Just watched episode 1. Very interesting to compare the behind the scenes footage with what we were writing on this board in the period from the sacking of Sean Dyche to the opening day fixture of the Championship season at Huddersfield.
I actually think we got a lot of things right Will. That the club was in deep financial peril following relegation and that a number of senior players would need to be sold to keep the club going proved correct. What I think we probably underestimated was that a high turnover of players was one of the things that actually was attractive to Vincent Company and helped sell him the job. We probably also underplayed the determination to get straight back to the Premier League and the vision as to how that could be achieved. Vincent Kompany was an appointment “out of left field” and I personally in my posts doubted he would join us. I was thankfully signally wrong in that. I am looking forward to the new season starting tonight. No-one (I think) on the board before the Huddersfield game predicted that we would go up as Champions and do so by a distance. Will we have surprises this season or just reality checks?
Only watched episode 1 so far, I was impressed with just how "real" the ALK gang are. Mrs Pace saying the takeover had put enormous pressure on her marriage and how Alan Pace runs his ideas with his fellow directors. Safe hands? I think so.![]()
