    This league

    Sunderland 3-0 Southampton

Southampton looked really in control in the games I watched but 3-0 down against Sunderland at half time. Anybody can beat anybody. Its not over yet but so many twists and turns.
Birmingham losing to Millwall too. Two good results for us if they stand and we win today.

Think you are right Boingy in as much that anyone can beat anyone else on the day in the Championship. I actually believe that, hard as it may be, we do still have a chance of reaching the playoffs this season because of this.

Certainly we are still stuck with a number of players who aren't good enough and neither have we been able to bring in the number of new faces we would have liked but the ones we have brought in look promising. It's not all about individual ability as good team work/attitude goes a long way. If Corberan can get them performing well as a unit we may be alright. The big concern, given how light the squad is now, is going to be injuries. We may rue letting some of our more promising younger players going out on loan even though I understand the financial reasons behind doing so.

I think we do have a chance of the play off's because Corberan is very good at galvanising a team. I actually don't think we have a bad squad at all. Its early days so you expect things to tighten up and a good run can work wonders. Southampton were thumped 5-0 today .

I’m not too worried about making the playoffs, my concern is staying in this league, given the state of the club.

If you are ‘not on it’ you will lose, there are a number of teams with limited technical ability but they make up for it with a strong mentality, a will to win, players working very hard for each other, well organised.
We saw that last season in teams like Rotherham, Bristol City etc.
What we do know is that we have some technical ability but as previous seasons have shown mentality we are as weak as p1ss

You can even lose with a good mentality. You can lose with 80% possession. If Maja scores yesterday and there was no great save we would at least be talking about a draw. Leeds can’t win at home at the moment, my Leicester mate is all upset because they lost at home to Hull and I can only imagine the comments on the Southampton forum this morning. What is the point of any of it? We get irritated, upset, elated, excited, every week depending on the result. That’s why I can’t get too upset over it. What’s the point?
