    Cork anyone?

Just wondering if Cork may be started tonight? Your thoughts please.
His height certainly a benefit, perhaps could be played instead of Cullen who hasn't shone as much this season. I'd be tempted. Relief to have Lyle back.

    Trafford
    Roberts Al Dakhill Beyer Taylor
    Luca Cork Brownhill Zaroury
    Zeki Foster

Since Luton rely on set pieces to score, my first change would be Muric instead of Trafford, as I think Muric is much more capable at dealing with those set pieces.

Not for me VC, those 2 are like for like. Which ever keeper he needs more protection from teammates. Due to our lack of height atm we can’t give that. Cork would help there.

Don’t forget we’ve never seen Muric in the EPL. Plenty of mistakes in level below meant we signed Trafford. No doubt for me which is the better keeper.

If it was owt to do with me, Jack Cork would still be one of the first names on the team sheet, whoever we're playing, home or away.

Sadly he doesn’t have the legs for this league - players get away from him too easily - he’s a decent footballer and has been a decent player for us - just think maybe he should be a fill in last 20 mins man like JBG should as well.

I feel for Cullen a bit really as his game is possession based ie we need the ball - I don’t think cullen will shine until we maybe play an extra man centrally and trust the wide boys to get up and support Foster.

Berg is similar to Cork a decent footballer but in transition gets lost for pace - spurs and Villa exploited us for that reason ( he’s the right build not sure he’s quick enough that’s all).

Sorry to be boring army, but I must ask again, which league are you talking about ? The PL with Spurs, City, Newcastle, United and Villa in, or the one with Forest in, because we've played Forest twice and they haven't seriously bothered us.

Tbf Sinkov I like Cork but he didn’t have the legs in the Premiership last time we were there - if we played the extra man deep in front of back 4 it may work - but the other teams you referred to drove the team bus through our midfield - once past our press.

As for forest they’ve lost like us to City - Utd - Arsenal but beat Chelsea and drew Brentford as well.

Reality is at this level of football you get found out and when you do if you dont change why you’re getting found out you lose more than you win.

I hope like you that against the so called lesser teams we can get some points- I used to have this discussion with my old man every week we went in the Dyche era he’d say it’s palace/ Brighton / Brentford today we should get a win - thing is we didn’t win as many as I’d have liked.

I was having a look at the stats for the season in our 6 PL fixtures. Over the season so far we have shared possession with our opponents with each averaging 50%. The problem is that we have only had 61 attempts at goal with just 16 on target. Our opponents have had 99 attempts with 41 on target.
Even Nottingham Forest had 4 more attempts than we did and had 1 more on target.

We are suffering the same fate as 2021/22 when we could not score goals and this will always come back to bite you. We have been on top in at least two games this season, however, we have not scored the goals you need and picked up just 1 point in those two games. although we were robbed at Forest and that game also cost us with the dismissal of Foster who could well have made a difference against United.

No easy answers I'm afraid, just lots of hard work on the training ground and the hope that this will pull things round.

To complete the picturre, Luton have averaged 35% possession, had 72 attempts with 13 on target whilst their opponents have had 94 attempts with 33 on target.

Three games against 'our' PL teams now, all away, and it would have been three wins but for VAR. We may have weaknesses but only the top teams are going to be good enough to exploit them. No need to panic, no need to change anything, we'll be fine.
